25.01.2022 7/10/20 @ 250pm Mitchell’s island 1 and 9 responded to fire at Cabbage Tree Island which is accessible by boat and a small barge big enough for our cat 9 a big thank u to the locals who took us and our gear over in their boat a big thanks to old bar for their help

23.01.2022 What is a Storz fitting ? It’s a fitting used by fire brigades like us to connect pumps, hoses, nozzles, hydrants or anything that needs a connection to fire fighting equipment. It’s the quickest way to make a connection rather than having to screw a fitting round and round up to ten times. The Storz fitting only requires a quarter of a turn. ... Most new houses have these fittings but even if your house is older, consider fitting a Storz to your tank so your brigade has the capability to get water for fire fighting purposes quickly and easily. 65mm is the recommended size.

When you hear a siren or see the flashing blu...e or red lights of an approaching emergency vehicle: * Give way to the emergency vehicle if you are stopped do not move until it is safe to proceed, even if the traffic light is green. If you are moving, you must slow down and stop if necessary to avoid a collision with the emergency vehicle. * Move out of the way as soon as you can safely do so * Move over as much as you can to the left-hand side of the road or, if possible, move onto the road shoulder or breakdown lane. On multi-lane roads, try to move into the left lane to let the emergency vehicle pass * Drivers on both sides of the road should be prepared to move out of the path of emergency vehicles * Emergency vehicles with sirens sounding or lights flashing responding to urgent situations are not required to follow the rules, as long as it is safe for them to do so.
