I grew up in Mildura and spent many a Sunday night at Olympic Park watching the world's best solo and sidecar racers ply their trade. Still love speedway to this day. 23.01.2022 We are sad to report the passing of esteemed Life Member, Col Leak, last night after a battle with cancer. Col, or "Springa" to those that knew him well, was with family in Wallaroo and in Palliative Care for his last months. Springa was a well regarded "passenger" on Speedway Sidecars, back in the era when the machines were "pigs" to ride, spending most of his competitive time on the side of Bob King. Bob will be saddened, as are all MMCC Members, to hear of Col's passing. I...n the list of "greats" as passengers, Springa is in the very TOP group of swingers to ever jump on the side of a Speedway Sidecar. His skill at reading what the bike was doing and what the rider intended was a sign of Springa's great affinity with the sport which we all love. With his job as a Compositor at Sunraysia Daily, Springa was responsible for the making and printing of the Olympic Park Speedway program. His attention to detail and the production of keen facts in the program was well known and understood by many. Rest in Peace, valued member and good friend. Vale Springa ! See more

22.01.2022 World Champ 1st to ride at Home He had to be the first man on the list for the GT on-site Windscreens Phil Crump Solo International on Saturday January 2nd the 2020 Under 21 World Champion Jaimon Lidsey. Jaymo had a unbelievable season in 2020 winning his first World Championship, becoming a father and breaking into the Unia Leszno team and helping them win there 4th straight Polish Ekstraliga Title in the hardest speedway League in the World. The club is delighted to have Jaimon on board for our solo meetings in January and we hope our local patrons come out in force to celebrate Mildura’s latest World Champion. @unialesznoks @motorcyclingaustralia @theaces1928
