24.01.2022 Please have a read and sign if you want to help Coorparoo save their grounds

20.01.2022 We are very lucky at Mansfield to have a network of girls who love to give back to the club. We've had first grade superstar Chelsea and the magnificent Caitlin (get well soon) in the past. This year we've had the wonderful Alex come down and mentor the young girls coming up through the ranks. Alex is an absolute champion and the girls love her. She gives of her time freely despite juggling school, mixed cricket on a Saturday and a job. In the new year she'll probably be star...ring somewhere for a senior girls team too. So from all of us at Mansfield Girls Cricket, we just wanted to say thanks Alex - love ya work! That's her under the red arrow and putting on a hitting display for our youngest girls in the nets

19.01.2022 This may be of interest to our girls?

17.01.2022 Today was a very special day for Mansfield girls cricket. We had our first ever girls BEARS representatives with Aya and Bhavika making their debuts in the Melissa Bulow Cup. Both girls performed admirably taking wickets, making catches, getting involved in run outs and scoring runs in a partnership at the end of the innings. ... A memorable day for these two girls with many more Mansfield girls to follow in the future.

17.01.2022 A reminder to all that we are done for the season thanks to Corona Virus. No more Blasters, Girls Only Zone, Club Cricket or Girls Heat League. See ya'll next season

16.01.2022 Congrats HPJCC. We really appreciate the support they give our club and the great job they do running the Girls Heat League. Well done, much deserved

12.01.2022 Another great day of Girls Heat League. Mansfield played Kuraby Knights Junior Cricket Club at Whites Hill #4 field in a close competitive match. Kuraby batted first making 9 for 51. We responded with 8 for 88. All the girls batted and bowled really well but the highlights by far were the running between wickets and excellent fielding. 6 run-outs including 3 direct hits.....wow, just WOW! After the game the girls elbow bumped instead of shaking hands and then shared a group p...hoto doing the "hand sanitize". It' the latest craze dance of 2020 Thanks to Holland Park Junior Cricket Club for a beautifully prepared field. We hear they may be re-naming field 4 after us as we have played on that field for the last 4 weeks. 1 week to go for Girls Heat League. Lets hope we can get through it before virus restrictions shut us down altogether.

11.01.2022 The draw is out for the Melissa Bulow Cup. The first girls Under 13 development cricket carnival ever that BEARS Junior Cricket will field two teams in. The BEARS teams consist of girls from Holland Park Junior Cricket Club, Bulimba Cricket Club, Wynnum Manly Junior D.C.C, @Wellington Point Cricket Club and of course Mansfield Junior Cricket Club We wish all the girls success and enjoyment in this carnival..... go get em BEARS!

11.01.2022 Our first Girls Heat League game is this Sunday morning. We play on Field 1 at 7.45am - can't wait!

09.01.2022 Congrats to Mansfield cricketer and occasional coach at our girls cricket sessions, Kaz Stafford for his selection to the 2020 Japan Cricket Association Academy Squad. Kaz missed a couple of winter matches in 2019 to travel to Japan to compete in an U19 tournament. He's now trying to fight his way into the Japan U19 team that will compete in the ICC East Asia Pacific Championships in 2021. With a bit of luck, that team will hopefully qualify for the 2022 ICC U19 World Cup in the Caribbean Good luck Kaz and GO JAPAN!

06.01.2022 The lights always shine a little brighter when our girls hit the nets for a training session. We had a great group today for Girls Only Zone and they all worked hard. After 30 minutes of fielding (thanks Tim and Pieter) we journeyed to the nets for some work.... The "big girls" conquered their fear against the hard ball. The "littlies" worked on bowling technique We've got one more session to go pre-xmas. Lets hope the skills are not forgotten when Santa flies into town!

03.01.2022 Girls Heat League families, please note that the draw is out early this week. We are playing at 7.45am on field 4 (again!) at Whites Hill. We will be missing Arshia, Bhavika, Destina and Pritika but we will be welcoming Eve to the team for this weekend. I'm sure the girls will all help make her first game enjoyable. Eve has been doing Girls Only Zone for 2 years now and I'm sure she'll do a great job this Sunday. So we will likely have 7 players. Eve, Prisha, Manmeet, Aarya,... Jia, Immy and Maddie. If any of these girls cannot make it, please advise and we will have Aya fill in. Please arrive at 7.15am to assist in carrying the equipment down to the ground. Bhupinder is away this week also so we'll need someone else to volunteer as scorer. We'll also need someone to do the ball teeing job if Maddie and Immy's wonderful brother Alex happens to be away. See you all on Sunday

03.01.2022 A special mention for our two "Magpies in Disguise" Sarah and Aya play level 2 Girls Heat League. Sarah plays with the Holland Park Perry team. Meanwhile Aya plays for Holland Park Lanning. Today the two girls clashed in round 5 of Girls Heat League. Sarah's team came out on top in a close one. Both girls bowled very well. Sarah was one of the fastest on the field whilst Aya bowled with unmatched accuracy.... They might be wearing blue but they are black and white through and through. Well done girls

02.01.2022 It was an historic weekend just gone for girls cricket in our region BEARS Junior Cricket fielded its first ever U15 and U13 girls teams in competitive matches against Brisbane North. The results were comprehensive in our favor with both teams bowling the opposition out and doubling their respective scores.... The photos below are from the U15 game which was held up due to rain, wind and cold but we still triumphed. The girls represent clubs in the district including Holland Park Junior Cricket Club, Wynnum Manly District Cricket Club, Bulimba Cricket Club, @Wellington Sharks Cricket Club and Wellington Point Wildcats Cricket Club (it wont be long until Mansfield has a girl or two in there too!) The U15 team has two matches over the next two weekends before they merge with Brisbane North to be selected in the "City Fever" team that will contest that state carnival. If the weekend result is any indication it will be a "team full of BEARS" The U13 team is picked for development purposes and those girls will play in carnivals after Christmas. Well done girls and BEARS. Keep up the good work developing girls cricket in our region

01.01.2022 Last Sunday some of our children joined in a terrific morning out at Whites Hill. With thanks to Holland Park Junior Cricket Club our girls spent the morning training for cricket. Then they all got to have a meet and greet with Brisbane Heat, QLD Fire and Australian cricket superstar Jess "JJ" Jonassen. Jess was amazingly friendly, signed autographs, posed for photos, and answered every question from every adoring fan.... Fun, fun, fun!
