25.01.2022 Hello to all the supporters in the community who have contributed to this project, we hope you are all coping well during these difficult times. We’re excited to share the good news that following the recent council meeting, all councillors voted to support the forthcoming council budget and the recommendation to allocate further funds to cover an unanticipated shortfall in the amount needed to complete necessary building works at the 47 Victoria St Macedon site. A special t...hanks to Councillor Mees for her strong support and advocacy. There’s still some further details to work out to map the path forward for this work, but it’s really heartening to acknowledge the continued support and collaboration with councillors, council officers, committee members and the wider community to see this project realised. We made this change away from @macedoncommunityhouse as we wanted to be absolutely sure we were inclusive of residents in both the Macedon and Mount Macedon township.

14.01.2022 Almost $6,000!! Now is the time to imagine a place where food and other essential items can be shared and prepared for those who are isolated. We envisage a place that makes us feel empowered and connected when there is a crisis, whether it be globally or locally.... By relocalising our focus, we can build community based on the local production and sharing of food, energy and goods. Relocalisation is how we use our local resources and currency to become more resilient in times of upheaval and uncertainty from the broader community. 11.01.2022 In 1979, Rita Hamilton started work as a Maternal and Child Health Nurse at 47 Victoria St Macedon, and for the next 16 years, she helped the families of Macedon and Mount Macedon through one of the most impactful times of their lives, assisting with the welfare of their children, and the welfare of the community through the period of the Ash Wednesday bushfires and beyond. 47 Victoria St Macedon has been a community gathering place for many decades. We're so close to taking... on the lease, and now we need the whole community to come together to help us create the Macedon & Mount Macedon Community House . 11.01.2022 Thanks to all our amazing donors, and with today’s donation from Vicki and Les Hawken and The Shared Table, we have passed our tipping point, which means all of our pledges will be honoured and put towards the 47 Victoria St building project as promised! It's been a very challenging time for our whole community and our globe and despite our isolation and uncertainty about the future we are committed to the vision of a space that can help to support our communities when they a...re ready to come together again and connect and share resources to tackle what comes next.
