15.01.2022 Update: We wanted to clear out a few things to help understand the meaning behind this image. This young child doesn’t work in a postural lordosis but for the... sake of the post was asked to present this position. We always promote the dancers' stance with an elongated spine. The young child lengthened through her spine in the second photograph. Yes, it's not perfect but do we know any young child that has reached perfection? The placement of the pelvis directly affects the curve of the lumbar spine and we are pleased this post has promoted a great deal of discussion in this important subject. Remember, she is only a child and still in the learning stage. However, at no time does PBT promote a tucked pelvis or tilted pelvis. POSTURE .. The principles regarding a dancers’ stance is ultimately all about the correct alignment of the spine. The students’ head, ribcage and pelvis should be stacked vertically with all parts on each side of the centre alignment balancing each other. All of the PBT posture and core exercises assist with the correction of posture. Beginning with "Foundation Posture", setting up early posture awareness and movement patterns is a huge aspect of PBT! As teachers, let's work to ensure that all of our students look as graceful as the image on the right with the correct posture

11.01.2022 Wow, what a huge last couple of weeks we have had! Concert rehearsals, covid event planning, hundreds of costumes, a full day of performances, what seemed like endless exam preparation and classes, two full days of exams and a full week of classes to finish off our dance year! Thank you to all of you for supporting our end of year concert this year. Our dancers made us so proud, and they certainly lit up the stage with their gorgeous smiles! A HUGE congratulations to all o...f our exam students, all of whom achieved the most incredible results. A special thank you to our examiner, Mrs Gilby (Comdance Queensland), for supporting and encouraging each and every one of our dancers. And finally, after what seems like an indescribable year, we farewell our beloved Miss Susie. We love you, we will miss you, but most of all we are so proud of you. Miss Susie successfully passed her Teachers Certificate exam this year and we are so excited to watch you chase your dreams next year. Wishing all of our MMStudios dancers, families and friends a Merry Christmas, and we are looking forward to seeing you all in 2021! Miss Carly and the MMSD team
