24.01.2022 Sorry for the late post however I couldn’t miss the opportunity to acknowledge International day of sign languages. Communication via sign language is embedded by many educators at our preschool and has been for many years. ... My first sign language classes were taught by a deaf man Doug, with a group of local preschool teachers many many years ago and this was embedded from then on. Preschoolers are more than capable of learning and if any families are interested there is many Facebook groups and websites to join.

23.01.2022 Part of our philosophy is that the rights of the child are PARAMOUNT. Children’s safety is an important everyday part of our curriculum and National Child Protection week is one way to support this. This poster has some great information.

23.01.2022 An important part of our Quality Improvement plan and strategic direction is plans to build a new preschool in the not so distance future! https://www.facebook.com/291446104246192/posts/3325929094131196/?extid=K2BpsMy6d1B2i2Ow

23.01.2022 Today is Early Childhood Educators Day With this year looking a little different, we may not be able to plaster my office window with all the beautiful messages and pictures to acknowledge the valuable work of all the Early Childhood Educators, but we can sure show them just how amazing they are by posting a message below. ... After all they are contributing to shaping the minds of our future leaders in our world. A very big warm THANK YOU to our very own Early Childhood Educators right here at Moama & District Preschool. We are so lucky to have each and everyone of you

22.01.2022 Today the frog group finished term three with a teddy bears picnic day and the kangaroo group celebrated pyjama day. Tomorrow the Emus will celebrate with a teddy bears picnic and the Wombats will end the term with a footy colours/ crazy hair day. A gigantic thank you too all of our staff, continuing to go above and beyond to ensure we offer a high quality play based preschool program. Thank you also to our families for adjusting with us throughout term three!... We wish everyone a safe, happy and well deserved term break! X

22.01.2022 A good explanation of how important parallel play is during the Preschool years.

20.01.2022 Tomorrow is an important day particularly during recent times and changes to what has been normal for many. Why not take the time to ask a neighbour or a friend - R U OK? https://www.ruok.org.au/join-r-u-ok-day

19.01.2022 What a great advent calendar - The kindmas calendar. Reminder to Wombats and Emu groups there is no sessions on Tuesday 8th Dec. This is the day we welcome our 2021 children to come and play with peers.

18.01.2022 We are very excited to announce that the NSW government has made this announcement last week. We as a not for profit preschool still do not know how this will work but we welcome any opportunity for our government to value the role of preschool.

17.01.2022 This is great news for all of NSW preschools. We are looking forward to more information coming and will share with 2021 families when we get this. Advocating at its best has finally made a difference to our children and families. #winning for the children.

16.01.2022 Hi everyone, this is a great page to follow with lots of great advice. Term three resumes tomorrow!

12.01.2022 We welcome everyone back to Term 4 tomorrow. Just some reminders to please social distance when waiting to come into the Centre. We will still be temperature checking also, sunscreen will be placed outside for adults to encourage children to apply their own. Children will need their SunSmart hats and as usual a change of clothes in their preschool bags. Our current Covid 19 risk assessment will apply until we review in the next few weeks. I thought I’d share the clip below to show our families how we have been using Sign language for the happy birthday song at Preschool for many years. Enjoy!!

12.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Today the frog group watched Alfreds War. This is a great story to provoke discussion and acknowledgement of the importance of Rememberance Day. This is a great story that’s important for NAIDOC Week as it’s about an Aboriginal man who went to war. Enjoy ... HTTPS://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bqw5jftCU68

07.01.2022 Today we celebrated the year ‘2020’ with celebration parties organised around the children’s voices for the Wombat and Emu groups. Tomorrow we continue the celebrations with the Frog and Kangaroo groups for our last day. We would like to thank EVERYONE for a fantastic year and wish you all health and happiness for this festive season.... We also need to thank our amazing staff for 2020, albeit it presented us with new ‘ways’ to reflect on and consider for the future, but we did it as a TEAM! Finally thank you to our Committee of Management. A fantastic driven group who work in partnerships to ensure we are doing our best for the strategic direction of our preschool now and for the future. We can’t wait to see who wins our raffle tomorrow! https://www.riverineherald.com.au//moama-and-district-pres

06.01.2022 Masks don’t replace distancing or hygiene. If you’re making a cloth one, aim for three layers, with a water-repellent outside layer. Have a few for when you’re... out. Put the used ones in a plastic bag and wash at home later. Handle them safely like you would a used tissue or hanky. No masks for children under 2 yrs they’re a choking hazard. Learn how to make your own mask: : https://www.health.nsw.gov.au//covi/Pages/cloth-masks.aspx For more information about the protection that masks provide against COVID-19 visit https://www.health.gov.au//coronavirus-covid-19-are-cloth-

01.01.2022 To our families, please continue to social distance at all times particularly when waiting to come into the Centre. Please also continue to stay away if unwell, even the slightest sniffle.
