20.01.2022 Here at Mobile Farm Service - Mechanical we operate a scheduled service program. Agricultural and lawn care equipment all have maintenance schedules just like your car. These are set by the manufacturer and usually have 2 main tracks hours of operation and time elapsed since last service. Hours of operation is very much a reactive service for us by that we mean we rely on our you the customer calling us up and saying I need the 500 hour service on my John Deere X300 ...done please for example from there we’ll look up the schedule and perform the maintenance items listed. As we said it’s reactive and relies on you contacting us. The other scale of time elapsed since last service is easier to keep track of. Every new piece of equipment we service is automatically added to our scheduled service program with a service reminder task programmed for 6 or 12 months (the 2 most common time periods) from the date of the last service. 6 monthly is our accelerated program for equipment that has frequent/heavy use which demands more frequent changing of oil, plugs and filters and greasing in order to maintain optimal operating condition. A bit of history about this tractor: "The Fiat 80-66 tractor was built in 1985, the same year that the 70-66 was introduced, and then discontinued in 1991. Part of the 66 series, it was marketed for daily use on small and medium farms. 13.12.2021 A couple years back we had the pleasure of restoring this beautiful 1959 Porsche Junior Diesel Tractor. It was a big project which included sourcing rare parts from Ireland! It was a very time consuming and extensive restoration but we absolutely loved it, it's such a joy to be able to give these rare machines a second life. Here are a few before and after shots from the workshop to the auction floor.... And a little bit of history from Shannon's where it was eventually auctioned off: To most car enthusiasts the name Porsche is synonymous with high performance sports cars but Professor Ferdinand Porsche also designed a series of tractors, with the original plans dating back before the Second World War. The first model, dubbed the Type AP17, debuted at the 40th Germany Agricultural Show held in Frankfurt in 1950 and was notable for its innovative lightweight construction, air-cooled engine (via a fan), hydraulic clutch and centrifugal oil filter. Production took place in new factory in Manzell, a suburb of Friedrichshafen in southern Germany and within a few years the model range expanded to include single, twin, triple and four-cylinder variants all with a common bore and stroke of 92 mm by 116 mm. The track width was adjustable, allowing for a very small turning circle, while a special gear enabled the operator to drive at just 700 metres an hour. The special hydraulic clutch also made it impossible to stall the engine, with the motor declutched when the brakes were applied. By the late 1950s, the range consisted of the Junior, Standard and Super and the diesel engines were largely standardised to keep production costs down. The Junior 108 was the smallest Porsche tractor available, with a single-cylinder engine developing just 14 horsepower.
