18.01.2022 Hello House Calls for Pets Page. Made it to the weekend. Been a busy week of home visits.

16.01.2022 Wow, Thanks everyone for supporting this new endeavour I am getting myself into.

16.01.2022 As the cold weather approaches, it’s a good time to check all is in order in regards to keeping your pets comfortable throughout winter. For example: - Check pet housing and bedding is still warm, weatherproof and adequate for the change in the weather - Keep your pets indoors if possible - Add blankets and consider heat pads if extra warmth is required ... - Consider animal clothing if your pet will tolerate it - Monitor and increase food if needed Winter is tough for any aged pet, but the cold of winter can be especially challenging for our ‘older’ furry friends. Cold weather can bring out the signs of arthritis (inflammation of the joints) which makes normal movement difficult and painful. If your pet is experiencing arthritic symptoms such as stiffness or intermittent lameness there are treatment options available which may assist in restoring normal movement. To have an individual treatment plan tailored to your pets needs, call Dr. Michael on 0400228926 for an appointment. Stay warm out there!

12.01.2022 This page now has some friends putting together some ideas to publish veterinary topics monthly.

09.01.2022 Happy Halloween! Remember to store your treats away from your pets. Sugary treats are not good for Pets and some sugary treats contain Xylitol which is toxic to dogs and harmful to other pets (if you think your pet has eaten Xylitol or chocolate please take to your local vet clinic urgently) Enjoy your trick or treating!

06.01.2022 If anyone would like to suggest a vet topic to be talked about here Feel free to let me know.

05.01.2022 One of our suggested topics comes from Kathryn who is looking at moving house in the near future with her cat.... Did you know? Anxiety in cats can present in many forms (inappropriate urination, fear and hiding are common) and there are lots of things you can do to desensitize your cat to things they will experience during the move. You could also consider boarding your cat during the most disruptive time so that the stresses of the removalists and the risk of escape are ...minimised. And.... Dont forget to make sure all collar, microchip and council registration details are updated to your new address. For further information, a pre-move appointment can be made where Dr. Michael can discuss strategies specific to your pets needs, and outline the triggers that may indicate if medication would assist your cat during the big move.
