22.01.2022 So, I think I found the problem: this dog has a mouse in its heart!!

12.01.2022 The last of this season’s birdwing has hatched. Isn’t she gorgeous?

04.01.2022 I do get to see a few renal infarcts, but this one is nice and clear. They show up as hyperechoic wedge shaped lesions in the cortex. This one is chronic as it is very bright, when they are acute they are much harder to see as thery are often isoechoic realtive to the rest of the cortex. See how the cortical margin is indented over the infarct? They are often an incidental finding, but they can give us clues as to whether anything else is going on, for example, this dog was suspected to have hyperadrenocorticism. When we see them in cats, it is always a good idea to assess for heart disease.

02.01.2022 Here they are: nine lovely, fat and healthy little puppies! Mum is doing great too. So cute and snugly!
