Here is the latest from the South Australian Dept of the Premier and Cabinet. Good morning... I write in response to your correspondence to the Premiers Office querying the status of remedial massage services in light of current restrictions on non-essential businesses and activities. As you would be aware, it is currently the case that any business/service in South Australia may remain open and operational, unless they have been specifically identified for closure, and provided the business complies with maximum density and social distancing requirements, and any other specified requirements for the business type. All businesses/services that must close or change their method of operation are shown in the Emergency Directions available here: https://www.covid-19.sa.gov.au/emergency-declarations. Massage services are explicitly mentioned in the Directions FAQ with the explanation that while massage parlours are closed, remedial or therapeutic massage and myotherapy services may remain operational as long as service provision occurs in a clinical or health care setting. It is also necessary to adhere to the density requirement of 1 person per 4 square metres and to follow good hygiene practices. Expanding upon the content in the FAQ, the key requirements that need to be met to remain open are: the treatment of patients is conducted by a qualified remedial health practitioner, therapeutic masseur or myotherapist; and the service is provided in a clinical or health care setting, which could include an allied health clinic or a consulting room at home (if that is the usual business location), but would not extend to services provided at clients homes, given this is not a suitably controlled environment in terms of hygiene and cleaning. As you may have seen in the media, a South Australian roadmap was released on Friday 8 May detailing the staged easing of COVID-19 restrictions. Stage 2, which includes non-therapeutic massage parlours, is proposed to start from 8 June, subject to public health performance and the State Coordinators assessment of the situation at that time. 13.01.2022 The newest information from the government today states that June the 8th will see the restriction of massage be lifted. This is great news and sincerely hoping that this date will go ahead.

12.01.2022 Hi everyone. Hope you are all safe and well. Well the last few weeks have been very interesting to say the least. I have had alot of people contact me over the last few days as the government has eased on some restrictions including massage. During this confusing time alot of the fine print is left off the news. Although these restrictions have been lifted its only for therapists in clinics. Unfortunately i do not fall under this category so my restrictions are still in place. I do appologise for this but i must adhere to the rules. I cant wait to see you all again and the way south australia is going, its going to be sooner rather than later.
