23.01.2022 Good morning everyone! For families that do not have access to the internet or have a limited data plan, please read the information below carefully to access the MOC Internet Station. You are welcome to use the MOC Internet Station to upload & download any classroom learning tasks and/or materials.
23.01.2022 Please read the latest update. Thank you for your support. URGENT PARENT UPDATE # 2 Access to school and preschool grounds... Dear Parents / Carers, Whilst today we have heard some good news with restrictions being lifted, we must not forget that the COVID risk is still very much present with a number of active cases in the state. The latest advice from our Department is that schools should minimise parents, volunteers, and non-urgent service providers from entering the site. As such, from Monday 23 November parents / carers will not be able to enter the school grounds to take their children to their classrooms. This will remain in place for the remainder of the year or until we receive advice to say otherwise. As a College we value the interaction of parents / carers with their teachers on a daily basis. However, in the interests of community health and well-being can I ask that parents/ carers respect our decision and please drop off/pick up students at the gate without entering school grounds. Please also note that the gates will only be opened at the very end of the day (2.55pm) and if you are waiting to collect your child/ren you will need to be mindful of social distancing measures. Parents are still more than welcome to attend to matters at our Reception desk. I am aware that there is a small number of students with special needs who will require parents / carers to take them to their classroom and this will be approved. Please contact your relevant Head of School if you believe you fit within this category. I would ask that those parents for whom approval is provided maintain social distancing at all times and minimise the time that you are on site. Stay safe, Kym Grant Principal
21.01.2022 URGENT INFORMATION TO PARENTS As you may already be aware, the Premier has made a significant announcement early this afternoon. ... We will be coming out of the hard lockdown as of midnight on Saturday and school will return on Monday with all students (unless they were specifically asked to isolate through SA health eg. Mawson Lakes School). Many of you would also be aware that our school did have a Student Free Day scheduled for Monday. We have taken the decision NOT to proceed with this day. Therefore Monday will be a normal school day for all students We will reschedule our SFD for a later time this year. Regards, Kym Grant Principal Mark Oliphant College B-12
20.01.2022 The Year 1 students from 6.13 loved learning about old, family celebrations such as Pancake Tuesday or rather Shrove Tuesday Around the World. They have also enjoyed making and tasting some yummy pancakes as part of their learning experience.
20.01.2022 Just a reminder that you can still make all the basic purchases from the canteen (chips, lollies, ice blocks etc), however it just needs to be done in lunch order form. Many children today wanted to buy ice blocks at play time but were unable to as the canteen isn't allowed to let children enter in an attempt to increase social distancing. If your child wants to purchase anything from the canteen, it can be organised in the morning or you can place the order on an envelope/lunch order bag and they can put it in their lunch order box in their classroom ready to be delivered at lunch time. Thanks!

09.01.2022 This term in 6.8 we have been continuing to develop our number knowledge. Miss Keyse loves maths and has started teaching us special codes that make maths easy! Impossible you say? Come and see her : ) This week we used counters to skip count in 2's past 100. Riley G kept Miss Keyse on her toes when he demonstrated some awesome higher order thinking.

03.01.2022 This week in Mr Barnes class weve been learning about germs and the importance of cleaning our hands after going to the toilet and before eating. Each child gets their hand stamped everyday to show how long it takes for us to rub it off and properly wash our hands. We also used sponges to scrub the germs away on some hands.
