25.01.2022 Hi everyone. I am recovering well so just confirming classes will resume this week. See you at training tomorrow!

23.01.2022 I am proud to announce the opening of my new Tae Kwon Do club here in Gladstone on the 3rd of October after the school holidays! The institute of Modern Tae Kwon Do is a modern Martial Art with traditional values. Members will be introduced to a broad curriculum covering sparring (semi/non-contact), set-sparring, self-defence, drill work (basic stances, kicks, punches, combinations of kicks and hand strikes), patterns (or forms) plus much more. A little bit about myself. I h...ave been training in martial arts for over 22 years since the age of 12. I started training with the Australian Freestyle Tae Kwon Do Association which then broke away to become the Institute of Modern Tae Kwon Do. After a short break to concentrate on my senior schooling, I achieved my black belt at the age of 19. I then began assisting at the class I trained at for a couple of years. At the age of 21 I was ready to teach and opened my own class at Bald Hill in Brisbane. At the same time another Instructor was unable to continue his own class due to work and I found myself teaching 2 classes 4 nights a week as well as still continuing my own training. After having taught for a year, I was promoted to 2nd Degree Black belt at 22. I continued to teach both classes for a number of years but in 2008 I stepped away from teaching my own classes due to growing work commitments and starting a family. Even though I wasnt teaching I continued my own training and was promoted to 3rd Degree Black Belt in 2010. In 2012 I left Brisbane and moved to Gladstone with my young family. I have continued to train at various clubs and styles since being in Gladstone but my passion for teaching, and the Tae Kwon Do I have grown up with has not faded. As my family grows, I am now in a position to again to be able to commit the time to teaching a class again and passing on my knowledge. I look forward to seeing you at the new club!
