With really low torque available in the bottom end and slow boost curve, you can see in stock form under 3000rpm there’s not much to play with at all. Once we spend the right amount of time tuning the vehicle, you can see peak torque is bought on 1000rpm earlier and at tha...t point there’s a extra +386nm of torque to use, more than the cruiser made in total as arrived also peak Hp is bought 800rpm earlier @2630rpm. As for peak power within the efficiency of all the modifications where about bang on, while we could push a little more out of it, there’s no need, everything is within its performance range. If you wanted break past this power the hold back would be the standard 1KD pump. Changing to a Stroker pump or ratio bracket on the standard pump would see this rig push over the 300hp mark efficiently, the injectors have more in them but only with a pump that can keep up to do so. Pre 2020 2.8 hilux with emissions compliant tuning as above with Alpha Tech Super Storm would land around 190hp on the top tune, well the new 2.8 now delivers that from factory this is the joy of the hub dyn...o giving us true back to back comparisons with no discrepancies of tire slip, dyno setup, nothing other than driveline losses and a exact figure. So the now super impressive late model 2.8 Hilux will happily gain a solid +40hp / +125nm on the top tune of 2, emissions compliant with out SUPER STORM piggy back ECU also with 2 selectable tunes 3 including standard mode. Continuous gains to be had as remapping these vehicles right now seems to very hit and miss. 13.01.2022 76SERIES in for a few mods and retune unfortunately the previous tune was one of the worse we had seen with a seriously lazy boost curve and 12.5AFR to go with it pretty much the whole way through Now running our custom tune and alpha tech piggy back ecu we have the choice of 3 tunes and Gainz in torque over the previous tune of +375nm @1950rpm on the top tune. That’s over a 100% gain in torque over previous Tuned elsewhere 222hp / 491nm-2900rpm... 08.01.2022 300hp 1KD for the thursday morning in for a nice list of mods, ROLLINCOAL already had some good bolt on go fast bits but needed the biggest pieces of the puzzle from us to finish it off We made a custom airbox as he wanted to run a panel filter, which it is now running a Duramax panel filter along with being mounted to the standard mounting points. Aluminium for light weight and powder coated to match the PSICO Performance FMIC. This all being plumbed into one of ou...r F55 gated turbos we fitted along with 18code +30 injectors and then controlling all the tuning side a ALPHA TECH TOYO MAX KD Also a valve body upgrade to the A750 to handle the new found torque. The rig is nicely setup but you wouldn’t think it was packing this power under the hood.
