22.01.2022 Meet Susan and her twins George and Alice. When did you join the GingerCloud MRP Community? We joined the GingerCloud MRP community at the very first season it was offered at Easts Rugby Union Club, not sure what year (maybe 5 years ago?).... What are the challenges as mum of a child with Autism, Aspergers or learning and perceptual disabilities have you experienced? George and Alice both have intellectual disability. The challenges are that they need support to be able to participate in social and community activities. They have difficulty communicating, they take more time to learn new skills and they are not as physically able as their same aged peers. How has GingerCloud MRP benefited you as a mother? So many benefits for me as a mother in the GingerCloud MRP: friendship, social opportunities, access to a network of Mums where we can share experiences/challenges and always feel supported. What do you hope for your child’s future? My hope for the future is that my children have a rich and interesting life that includes work, leisure, learning and friendship opportunities. I would like them to be part of a large community where they are valued and respected, and where people know them and include them. #disability #disabilityinclusion #autism #autisminclusion #autismawareness #disabilitystillhasability #mrp #mrp4inclusion #gingercloudfoundation #gingercloud #bondsthatwontbreak #poweringinclusiontogether #funonthefield #mumsareimportant #mums #autismmumsarestrong #autismmumsrule #love #community #belonging #rugbyislife #rugbygirls #rugbyboys #rugbyisforeveryone

17.01.2022 Meet the awesome team at GingerCloud Foundation

16.01.2022 Celebrating our GingerCloud MRP Mums! Meet Lorraine and her son Matthew When did you join the GingerCloud MRP Community? We have been involved with MRP since 2018.... What are the challenges as mum of a child with Autism, Aspergers or learning and perceptual disabilities have you experienced? Challenges as a mum of a child with Down Syndrome & Autism. Communication is our biggest hurdle. As Matthew has very limited speech it is not always easy knowing what it is he is needing, feeling, wanting and not knowing if he is in pain always makes me sad. I feel sad that he can only give us limited version of what he’s done for day or what he did at camp or how much fun he had at an activity. Sometimes feeling isolated because you are so busy juggling work, doctor’s appointments, Centrelink and NDIS that you don’t have time to network. How has GingerCloud MRP benefited you as a mother? GingerCloud MRP has helped me by making me feel like we belong to a community. We have all made new friends who will be lifelong. To meet people with similar circumstances to us and being able to talk to people who understand how you feel and being able to network has been wonderful. We have found out so much information about other activities and other services we can access. What do you hope for your child’s future? We wish for Matthew’s to be happy and healthy in the future. We hope that he will be able to learn new skills so he can be an active member of society by volunteering or having paid employment. #disability #disabilityinclusion #autism #autisminclusion #autismawareness #disabilitystillhasability #mrp #mrp4inclusion #gingercloudfoundation #gingercloud #bondsthatwontbreak #poweringinclusiontogether #funonthefield #mumsareimportant #mothersday #mums #autismmumsarestrong #autismmumsrule #love #community #belonging

09.01.2022 Donate Now to our Annual Appeal. https://fundraise.gingercloud.org/annual-appeal-2021 It is estimated that 14% of school aged children in Australia have significant learning and language disabilities.... Power disability inclusion with us! Help our young people with disability grow! Megan and Anthony Elliott’s son Max, is an inspiring young man with autism and a complex language disability. His disability has created many challenges across his life, which often means he cannot do the same things as everyone else. The Elliott’s family’s dream was to create an inclusive community where girls, boys and young people, just like Max, felt valued and can live their best life. The Elliott's formed our envisioning GingerCloud Foundation. With support from the rugby community they developed a world first Modified Rugby Program (MRP) to help create connections, long-term bonds, and friendship for young people like Max and their families within their local rugby club community. Seven years on and GingerCloud’s Modified Rugby Program has grown to 325 Players, PlayerMentors and Coaches in 33 teams across 13 clubs in Queensland and the ACT. It’s not just rugby! GingerCloud now includes leadership, work experience and engagement inclusion programs alongside our sports programs for young people with disability and our communities. To celebrate our MRP anniversary, GingerCloud is launching our Annual Appeal. How You Can Help! You can help by: Donating: Donate to our annual appeal from 1 May 30 June 2021 Passing on the Ask: Let your colleagues, clients and suppliers know how you are contributing GingerCloud’s Annual Appeal and ask them to do the same. Organisation Dollar Matching: If your organisation pledges to match donations from employees (up to $1000) or your suppliers and clients (up to $5000), we will place your company logo and weblink on the Annual Appeal website plus your company will receive an appreciation certificate or have the opportunity for GingerCloud to present at your workplace. Email [email protected] for more information.

03.01.2022 Celebrating our GingerCloud MRP Mums! Rachael and Dominic When did you join the GingerCloud MRP Community? Dominic joined the UQ MRP team when it first started at UQ sporting fields in 2019. The UQ MRP team now train at the UQ Bullsharks home ground at Graceville, alongside all the other rugby teams. Which is fantastic!... What are the challenges as mum of a child with Autism, Aspergers or learning and perceptual disabilities have you experienced? I try to be a pretty positive person and look at the bright side of things, however parenting is tough for everyone at times. The challenges can be very confronting but the rewards are endless. Not belonging anywhere, lack of true inclusion and fear of the future, are probably the hardest challenges so far. How has GingerCloud MRP benefited you as a mother? This is hard to answer without getting a bit emotional. What Megan and Anthony have created through their GingerCloud vision is nothing short of incredible. Our child is finally included and accepted as he is. I have watched him make friends, gain confidence and feel a part of a community. For me as a mum, I now have connections with other mums and enjoy shared experiences without judgment. Being so proud to say we’ve got Rugby training this afternoon - I wear it like a badge! What do you hope for your child’s future? Dominic is just the best person we know! He is kind, funny, brave, resilient and clever in his own way. We wish for him to have purpose in life. To be busy, engaged, active, healthy, happy and retire early in a beachfront apartment at Noosa of course!! #disability #disabilityinclusion #autism #autisminclusion #autismawareness #disabilitystillhasability #mrp #mrp4inclusion #gingercloudfoundation #gingercloud #bondsthatwontbreak #poweringinclusiontogether #funonthefield #mumsareimportant #mothersday #mums #autismmumsarestrong #autismmumsrule #love #community #belonging
