25.01.2022 Kym from South Plympton, Adelaide, tells ModWood about her ModWood XTREME GUARD decking installation in progress: ‘I’m replacing an old timber deck and still working on it. I’m not a builder but following the installation instructions (ModWood and Kleva Klip installation) which are good. The deck is an odd shape with nothing ‘square’ to work with, just staying parallel with house. It’s about 17 Square Metres. ... Going ok so far’. 19.01.2022 This is a private residential property located on the Great Ocean Road in Fairhaven, Victoria in some of the harshest conditions. What was specified is Silver Gum ModWood Flame Shield 137mm, to be up to the BAL Zone of this area. The larger deck is 45 m2, elevated above a car parking bay. ... The old decks did not survive the ocean winds, beating heat, the extreme salt content from the water. The client had put so many coats of deck oil/varnish that the gaps between boards were almost closed and didn’t look/feel like timber anymore. Everything had to be sea grade stainless steel; Kleva Klips, button screws and decking screws for installation.

The building, completed in 1961, was Melbourne’s first, privately developed high rise apartment block and the tallest in Victoria until Robin Boyd's Domain Park Flats was completed in 1962. The building was designed by émigré architect Mordechai Benshemesh who designed many multi-storey buildings in St Kilda, Victoria and Elwood, Victoria. Edgewater Towers is considered to be Benshemes...h's most iconic design. Following almost a decade of closure to residents, the rooftop terrace was completed in May 2018 and reopened to residents providing a fabulous communal space.
