22.01.2022 YEAR 6 SEA WORLD UPDATE All is going well at Sea World. The kids are having heaps of fun. The weather is awesome, cooler than yesterday with a nice sea breeze. We will leave at 3pm so may be back a bit early again depending on traffic. Upon returning to school, students will have to check in with their teachers before being released.

17.01.2022 In order to reduce risk and minimise the spread of COVID-19 parents and carers are requested not to enter the school grounds unless absolutely necessary. Please say your goodbyes at the gate and refrain from socialising on or near the school grounds. Also, it is imperative that ALL members of our school community follow these simple, preventative measures: Keep your child at home if they are unwell. If your child presents as ill when at school, we will phone you to collect ...them. Physical distancing measures for adults remain in place. This includes the requirement that adults should maintain a physical distance of 1.5 metres from each other to help prevent the transmission of COVID-19. We thank you for your continued support.

15.01.2022 VOLUNTEER POSITION AVAILABLE (OSHC SUB-COMMITTEE) Moggill SS P&C are looking for a volunteer to join our OSHC Sub Committee in the role of Secretary. The Secretary arranges meetings, takes minutes at the monthly meeting, contributes to the planning and policy reviews of OSHC and on occasions does bank payment approvals. Our Meetings are held once a month currently on a Monday evening in the OSHC building. You would also be required to attend one General Meeting to be accept...ed as a member. This is in support of former Moggill State School parent, Jane Harnischfeger, who has committed to competing in this year’s Children’s Hospital Foundation fundraiser 42K Your Way. Jane has worked in PICU at the Queensland Children’s Hospital for more than 25 years and sees the amazing positive impact on children and their families. Your generous donation will support the PICU team to implement improvements to the children through the purchasing of specialised equipment and staff roles. Our aim is to raise $100,000 and we need your help!! All money raised on this Free Dress Day will go directly to PICU Liberation. 10.01.2022 Moggill State School thanks Brisbane City Council for their support of the redevelopment of the Vegetable Garden. MSS was successful in receiving a Cultivating Gardens Grant at the end of 2019 that enabled us to purchase tools, seedlings, soil, mulch and more during 2020!

09.01.2022 For students with dietary requirements we are able to offer a VEGETARIAN PIE and/or GLUTEN FREE LAMINGTON on 9 June as part of our Tuckshop Special. VEGETARIAN... PIE - Mexican vegetable pie, however we would need a minimum of 10 orders. GLUTEN FREE LAMINGTON - A wonderful parent has offered to make some GF lamingtons, there will be a limited number available. If you would like to order a Vegetarian Pie or GF Lamington please send a PM or email to [email protected] by no later than Monday 31 May 2021.

Many hands make light work so we are looking for lots of volunteers to help with mulching garden beds/playgrounds and filling the play sand pits... 01.01.2022 Thanks to the Pullen Pullen Creek Catchment volunteers for installing a watering system for our native nursery. Our sunflowers are looking happy and looking forward to our green thumbs group giving them some care and water once school returns.
