17.01.2022 An interesting article here on logo trends for the coming year. I like the inclusion of the responsive logo, which makes total sense to me :-) And as the shift continues towards screen being the main point of contact (as opposed to print), gradients are popular again.

12.01.2022 I started bullet journaling a couple of years ago, after my mate DiBueno.Design introduced me to it. Here’s why: it’s #lowwaste - sometimes I need 6 pages for a daily entry, sometimes I don’t journal for a week. With bullet journaling, I just pick up where I left off. For this reason, I’m also still using the same journal I had last year. it‘s #intentionsetting - because I need to write out a new calendar spread every month, it forces me to reset for that month and t...ake stock of my events and goals. I like to #keepitsimple - using icons to create my own legend and shorthand really appeals to my #graphicdesign sensibilities. it’s #multipurpose - I use my bujo as a diary, work notebook, sketch pad ... it’s the perfect blend of #functionandform - I can make it look pretty if I have the inclination, but some days I just need to get shit done quick. There’s other benefits of bullet journaling but I feel this post has got a tad long I was lucky enough to get a posh bujo a couple of christmases ago, but it’s really not required, any notepads or wads of paper would do! #bujo #bulletjournal See more

11.01.2022 So I have this lovely, lovely client who is a teacher. She is not a fan of trawling the internet for teachers resources and she can never find exactly what she wants. She saves time by working with me to create her own resources, be it banners, posters, forms, instructions etc. ... For this particular client, I use an image library to help create illustrations. This is usually a faux pas in graphic design land, but in this case, it helps me to keep my prices down and this client doesn’t require original illustrations. #teachersresources #teachersofinstagram #teacherinspiration

04.01.2022 First up, emails are back! Also, it’s been a while since I posted so I think it’s about time I got back into it.... This client and I set up a meeting at the library so the kids had something to do while we went through the brief for this logo. It was a really nice way to have a design meeting! The ‘reject’ logo (ie the the other I presented alongside this one - I present 2 logos for my clients) may still see light of day yet in some other form.
