19.01.2022 Offer value to others. Let’s flip the switch for a moment. Instead of meeting for a date, going to a bar, or attending a singles event with the intention of getting what YOU want..... why not make it all about someone or everyone else (instead of you). For example....... For a while my goal was to find happiness in love. I was proactively dating, using apps to meet people, and also meeting people organically whilst doing activities that I enjoy. When I began my business however, I discovered a new source of energy inside myself from the simple act of serving others. It was a fuel greater than happiness. By focussing on creating spaces for others to meet and connect, I found much fulfilment in exploring this passion of mine. I stopped desperately searching for love and found something even better. I no longer talk about finding someone to complete me because I already feel whole.... fulfilled. 15.01.2022 Completing this 30 day challenge kept me entertained, boosted my skill-set, expanded my comfort zone and gave me plenty of conversation topics to talk about with my friends and family. It was almost as though Covid lockdown didn't exist for 30 days because I was exploring, learning and creating despite social limitations. Here's the full list of my comfort zone challenges which I completed in July and August 2020,, (in no particular order): 1. Do a handstand for 4secs (will n...eed to prepare my body for this! On Day 3 I started doing push-ups to build strength...) (Day #21) 2. Jog daily (Day #1,2,3.... etc) 3. Learn poi (Tiffany FlowArts #Day 16) 4. Fast for 24hours (apparently fast increases life expectancy!) (Day #22) 5. Buy a van (to convert into tiny house) (Day #23) 6. Teach a SPEED DATING class (live) (Day 28) 7. Learn a new song on guitar (Day #7) 8. Learn a new recipe (Day #14) 9. Give a fancy stranger a compliment (Day #15) 10. Leave a positive note for someone (Day #19) 11. Send a friend flowers, anonymously (Adrian did also; Thursday! Day #6) 12. Leave an uplifting message in chalk on the sidewalk in a high traffic area (Day #2) 13. Get up early to watch the sunrise (Day #5 coincide with viewing planets) 14. Learn the Melbourne shuffle for example (Day #8) 15. Get up early and do yoga for at least 30minutes daily (new habit) (Day #18) 16. Meditate for 30minutes daily (new habit, Day #3,4..... etc) 17. Attend Rostrum public speaking group (Day #27) 24. Write a blog and submit to publisher (Day #11- wrote the pitch - was rejected ) 25. Launch Dating By Design matchmaking program (Day #25) 26. Write a jingle for Mojo Mingle (Day #30) 27. Have a cold shower (Day#4) 28. 1000 skips in less than 10 minutes (Day #13) 29. Have a difficult conversation with someone (Day #26) 30. Are you quiet, timid, reserved, perhaps even non-responsive (eg ghosting) or are you buzzing with excitement and curiousity to learn more about others? QUESTION: Would you rather date someone with high energy and a positive mind-set, OR would you rather date someone with low energy and a pessimistic outlook on life? How are YOU showing up in dating, or in life in general? Do you complain or do you create solutions and see possibility and opportunity? What could you do different to improve your energy this week? 10.01.2022 At age 19 I got glandular fever and was bed ridden for 3 months with fatigue and depression. My friends didn’t understand why I didn’t have energy to go out partying with them.... so we grew apart. I felt lonely, boring and tired.... Eventually, after revamping my diet and getting into the habit of regular exercise, my energy came back. I discovered a much more enjoyable way to live as well. Rather than binge drinking every weekend, I discovered a love for travel, adventure and a curiosity to meet new people and share experiences with them. This new found passion of mine had me circumnavigate the globe for years on end; deep diving into the cultures of almost 60 countries by the time I was just 32. While glandular fever may have felt like a kick to the guts at age 19, it actually put me on a path to a richer, more fulfilled life, one that I now happily share with the Mojo Mingle community. 01.01.2022 Over the years I’ve hosted hundreds of social gatherings. I pay attention and observe my guests. About 50% of people, at any event, are outgoing and jump into conversations effortlessly. The other 50% are more like me.... a bit more reserved and tend to observe first before participating. Both strategies work well at Mojo Mingle events because people have 2+ hours to be social with everyone.... Being able to develop rapport in a short amount of time is a skill which can accelerate your success at events. Despite considering myself quite a social person, you’ll see that my quick connection skills needed some work (level 1). Speed-dating isn’t easy.... but developing rapport in a short amount of time is something you can learn, just as I did (see my level 3 example).
