01.01.2022 Flinders once known as Mendi-Moke, is a town south of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located on the Mornington Peninsula. Named by George Bass after his friend, the explorer and British naval officer Matthew Flinders. Settlement commenced in 1854 Moke is a term used in the British Isles as slang for "donkey".
