07.01.2022 {Special Announcement from the Director} I am so excited to tell you all about the brand new Mater Mothers’ Parenting Support Centre that launched softly at the beginning of this week. I am also very proud to announce I am working with the team a couple of days a week to help with the setup and administrative processes. The centre offers early parenting support and guidance for parents up to six months after the birth of their baby. And the best part is it's a FREE service f...or those under Medicare!! If you are struggling with your new role as a parent or caregiver and would like some extra support to address breastfeeding/feeding issues, sleep and settling, emotional wellbeing or infant interaction and bonding you are welcome to self refer to this service. Options include: one on one consultations half and full day stay appointments group workshops online consultation. Services provided include: holistic assessment of mothers and babies by a highly trained Mater doctor individual lactation consultations individual sleeping and settling consultations general parenting advice and support physiotherapy psychological support including postnatal wellness group educational workshops. The centre is open from 8 am to 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday by appointment only (excluding public holidays) and is located on level 7, Salmon Building (previously the Mater Children’s Hospital building).
