22.01.2022 BABY DUE FEBRUARY 2021! SURPRISE! And yes, that’s singular... I’ve confirmed there’s only one baby blip with a good heartbeat I AM EXCITED!... Although I thought I’d be 7 weeks and 1 day today, our blip was measuring on the smaller size - only 0.28cm! That’s crazy small!! Which would put baby at 5 weeks and 4 days. I’m not sure that’s accurate... as it would mean I found out I was pregnant at 2 weeks and 5 days. Is that even possible?! I’m going to have another scan in two weeks to track our little blip’s growth. I’m not worried - both my dating scans with Avalyn and Oakie were the same and we ended up correcting the dating scan date to my original date at the 20 weeks scan. In the meantime, I AM EXCITED! 13.01.2022 This Father’s Day was not how it should have been. We gave Hubby his gift and hugged and kissed him. For we truly love and appreciate him. But it was not a ‘happy Father’s Day’. It was a day full of bittersweet moments.... We tried to pretend all was normal. We ordered a beautiful takeaway brunch and took it to a playground for a picnic. But it wasn’t normal. Hubby noticed when I stumbled from feeling dizzy and lightheaded. He noticed the pain on my face from the cramping in my stomach. He noticed the tears in my eyes when I watched Avalyn chase Oakie through the long grass, only to catch him and cuddle him fiercely. One moment Hubby would be laughing and playing with Avalyn and Oakie. The next he’d be asking me if I was ok, and giving me a hug. Happy and sad at the same time. Grateful that we have two beautiful and healthy toddlers. Heartbroken that they won’t ever meet their baby brother. Bittersweet moments. Father’s Day has become something different now. It’s no longer a day full only of happiness. It is also a day full of sorrow. Despite visible evidence, Hubby is a father of three. Despite never hearing our baby boy cry or feeling the warmth of his body as he snuggled in close, he was our baby boy. From the moment we knew of his existence, we loved him hard. He became part of our family. We spoke about him. We wondered if he’d have Hubby’s hair and my eyes. We planned our lives with him. There is now an absence in our lives that is ever-present, and he is named Huxley. On days when other families post selfies with their clamoring children, his absence becomes more vivid than ever before. I now realise that every grieving parent is probably a little sadder than usual on Mother’s Day, or Father’s Day. Or Christmas, Easter, or Halloween. Their wounds feel a little rawer, their grief a little more palpable. I know this was how I felt. I know it was how Hubby felt. 09.01.2022 Hello I thought I’d do an awkward little intro post - given, I don’t think I have ever done so?? This is me and #mybeautifulfamily (including our newest #babyboy) I’d truly do anything for them! They are the reason I started photography and creating presets (swipe to see my presets in action!). It is my dream that one day my side hustle (photography and presets) will grow into a successfully business. I’d love nothing more than to earn my living while taking photos and... creating stunning presets for all to love!! In the spirit of fun, I’ve listed two truths and one lie below. Can you guess which is the lie? (PS this was ridiculously hard to come up with!) 1. I don’t remember the end of 2010 or most of 2011. I was in a car crash that led to me having short-term memory problems. During that time, I moved house twice, including interstate after being successful in a job application I don’t even remember applying for!! 2. I’ve been first on scene to MANY car crashes. I’ve had to give first aid to people who were merely dazed, to people unconscious, to people with cuts/bruises/broken bones. I’ve even had to call 000 to report a fatal car crash. I am now particularly paranoid about being in a car accident with the kids in the car - and consequently get very cranky at any and every idiot on the road. 3. I’ve stopped traffic in Melbourne’s CBD. I was driving my car and stopped at some lights in the CBD when the biggest, most Albino Huntsman you’ve ever seen, squeezed out of one of my air vents and ran across my dashboard. I’ve never heard myself make such screams of terror. I’m not one to panic except on this day. I screamed with such terror, people on the sidewalk stopped to stare. People even got out of their running cars wondering if they should help I madly escaped my car and ran across the intersection, crying hysterically. I was in such a state, all traffic stopped. In the end, a big burly trucker (who refused to go near my car) awkwardly hugged me until I stopped crying. An old lady and two other men led the mission to terminate said huntsman. The little old lady was the one who eventually killed it with my MelWays. Now which is the lie?!

07.01.2022 Oakie’s first beach trip!! Last week, we visited my parents in Victoria. And it was AMAZING!! Oakie LOVED the beach!! Avalyn, on the other hand, would not touch the sand. I’ve said it that much, this little parrot thinks it’s normal to be busy and started to tell her dolls that she’s busy too. ... Firetruck you #childcaregerms Did you know that prolonged sleep deprivation (more than 24 hours) is an especially insidious form of torture because it attacks the deep biological functions at the core of a person’s mental and physical health. It is less overtly violent than cutting off someone’s finger, but it can be far more damaging and painful if pushed to extremes. The first signs of sleep deprivation are unpleasa...nt feelings of fatigue, irritability, and difficulties concentrating. I’d call this a standard parenting day... Then come problems with reading and speaking clearly, poor judgment, lower body temperature, and a considerable increase in appetite. I’d call this your standard parenting week... If the deprivation continues, the worsening effects include disorientation, visual misperceptions, apathy, severe lethargy, and social withdrawal. I’d say this is about where I am now... So if I say or do anything that is particularly strange, just nod and smile and hand over the caffeine. Do not engage. I cannot guarantee whether I will laugh, cry or scream at you because it’s your faults the earth isn’t rotating fast enough and it’s only 3pm and not bedtime... . . .
