24.01.2022 Test day at shenington kart club today for Piers Prior as he’s getting some practice in for tomorrow’s race day and next months shenington super prix event here as piers is the current SP champion roll on race day tomorrow

23.01.2022 Introducing the most recent driver to gain Momentum, Oliver Cottam! Backed by OLE enterprises, 12y/o Oli has joined momentum looking to improve his driving and maximise his enjoyment of racing in the Mini X30 class. Oliver will be competing in the Whilton mill club championship among other events including the Shenington Superprix. Oli thoroughly enjoyed his first race weekend with us. He made huge improvements to his lap times in every session as he raced around Shenington ...for the first time, and came home as second novice driver in the final. I will be working to help Oli improve all aspects of his driving throughout the year and prepare him for his move up to Junior x30, keep up to date with the momentum page to track his progress Ciao for now, Piers :)

21.01.2022 Whilton Mill round 10 Kyle Dunford struggled to find a good feeling on his chassis in the cold temperatures in testing, however drove very well in the wet heats on Saturday including leading a lap against some of the best drivers in the world, let alone the UK. He backed this up with a PB in the third head in the dry of 46.05s. Piers had some of the worst luck of the season. Having gained 11 places in heat 1 his chassis snapped forcing a DNF. After welding the chassis before ...heat 2 he leadby 3 seconds, before his throttle stuck open forcing a spin and and 21st place finish. The dry heat 3 was the first chance to claw back some points, 26th-6th was a promising sign for the final. Unfortunately all finals were abandoned due to a power cut at the circuit, a shame as both Kyle and Piers were looking forward to a strong final. Thanks to all who helped, and came to support. We look forward to Round 11 where Piers looks to seal the championship with a strong result, and Kyle will be pushing hard to consolidate his great driving in recent rounds. We also look forward to seeing Mason Reeve joining Momentum after some great tests.

18.01.2022 Struggling to 8th in X30 senior after a spin, then an electrical issue (pictured) in the final due to the rain. Not my best driving at the weekend, but still 13 points clear in the championship. See you in September Whilton Mill Kart Club, back on form ~Piers

14.01.2022 - Whilton mill Round 7 - Following a difficult weekend at Shenington for the Superprix, Momentum we were ready to hit the Whilton Mill circuit hard with Piers in Senior X30 and Jamie and Oliver in MiniX After promising testing on Saturday, both Oliver Cottam and Jamie Perry drive very well on new tyres in the heats, setting Personal best lap times and reducing the gap to the leaders. Jamie suffered bad luck in the heats with nose cone penalties hampering his final grid posit...ion. This was to be Oliver’s last Novice meeting and he showed significant improvement finishing the heats very near the pack of experienced drivers. Unfortunately in the final a racing incident early on cost him the chance to fight. He still managed to collect the award for best Novice Piers Prior was out to extend his championship lead in Senior X30. Heat 1 and 3 were incident packed leading to a 14th and DNF respectively. Despite suffering a bruised hand in the heat 3 incident the kart was fixed and Piers lined up 15th for the final. Continuing the speed he had showed in the heats he rose 14 places in 13 minutes to take the win by just under a second, and expends his championship lead to over 30 points. Catch the final re-live here https://youtu.be/oT7csJpmHRc (6:01.30 final) A successful weekend for Momentum was just what was needed after a frustrating Shenington the week before. Many thanks to Jade engines and all who helped and supported at the weekend

14.01.2022 -A very wet Whilton mill round 8- This month it was Kyle Dunford, Chris Kalava, and Piers Prior on track. Kyle was on a high after making huge gains and setting a PB while testing with Momentum earlier this week. After a difficult Saturday with brake issues Kyle drive very well all day in sodden conditions to 18th in the Junior X30 final, a very strong field. Kyle's driving is improving rapidly in all conditions.... This was to be Chris Kalava's first race in X30 senior. Unfortunately the heavy rain caused Chris issues in all his heats. He managed to gain 9 places to finish 14th in the final, a good end to a frustrating day. Piers started the day 34 points in the lead of the championship. After mistakes in heats 1&2 costing positions he managed to win from pole in heat 3 and consolidated the kart's wet setup for the final. Starting 4th he was again spun on lap 1, and then struggled to 9th with an electrical missfire. Despite this Piers still leads the championship by 12 points (tbc), so a frustrating day but still in a strong position going into the last 3 rounds. Momentum was again a jolly tent all weekend dispite miserable weather. Thanks to all who helped and supported at the circuit and at home on the live stream (below) https://youtu.be/oxBffDvUh6U

09.01.2022 Introducing one of Momentum's first drivers, Jamie Perry Jamie races in the Mini X30 class having moved up from IAME cadets at the beginning of the year. As one of Momentum's first drivers, Jamie has made huge improvements this year to his driving and is feeling more and more comfortable in his Compkart every race weekend he does. Jamie will be racing in the Whilton mill club championship as well as other races around the country throughout 2018. He is a big character in the paddock and always has a smile on his face even if things aren't going his way. His positivity will see him make big improvements going forward, he loves racing with Momentum. Best of luck this weekend Jamie, we'll be watching!

08.01.2022 A solid weekend at Whilton Mill for Momentum. Kyle Dunford drove excellently in both wet and dry conditions adapting well to setup changes made to the kart. In the final he managed to gain 10 places on a packed and quality grid to finish 21st. Piers Prior started the weekend 13 points clear at the top of the senior X30 championship. Following on from the great pace last month in the wet Piers was only hampered by a racing incidents in heat 1 and 2, before taking 2nd in heat ...3. Starting 2nd in the final he managed 4th place and extends his championship lead to over 30 points with two rounds remaining. Thanks as always to all those who helped and supported Momentum. Next stop is The house on the 7th of October for Piers in the London cup!

05.01.2022 -Momentum continues from Whilton mill- Racing this weekend at Shenington Kart Racing Club - SKRC" Momentum had three drivers, Jamie Perry and Oliver Cottam in Mini X30, and me (Piers Prior) in Senior X30. After a very successful weekend at Whilton Mill Kart Club in May where I managed to win the A final and take the championship lead in Senior X30, Momentum have done it again. Powered by Jade Karts engines, and on Scott Lambeth's borrowed 2016 Compkart, I won every heat and ...the final Many valuable nuggets if info were also leant along the way in preparation for the English championship meeting in a month's time. Jamie and Oliver both had a great race day, with Oliver improving by over a second from Saturday testing, and Jamie driving very well despite not being able to test the day before. Both Jamie and Oliver are looking forward to Whilton mill this weekend... as am I! A huge effort before the weekend by Scott Lambeth, Brian Lawrence, Ian Lambeth, and everyone involved meant the races ran without a hitch. We all look forward to Whilton mill this weekend, lets keep up the Momentum :D See you on the track - Piers See more

05.01.2022 - Momentum heats up at Whilton - We returned to Whilton Mill Go Karting and Outdoor activities just a week after a great race at Shenington, and it was set to be a scorcher This weekend saw the relationship between Jade Karts and Momentum grow. I (Piers Prior) would be driving a Jade supplied BirelART as well as racing with Jade's great engines. This combination allowed me to finish 4th in a grid of 27 senior X30's and extend my championship lead. Next on the calendar is th...e E-plate at Shenington In Mini X30, Jamie Perry and Oliver Cottam were both in action again. Jamie again jumped straight into heat 1 having not been able to test on Saturday. He got up to speed very quickly and set a personal best lap time which helped him finish in the top 10 in a strong field, until he suffered a 10s penalty for a dropped nosecone. Jamie drove very well and is still showing improvement every time/day on track. It would be Oliver's 2nd weekend with the team following a great debut at Shenington where he leant a new circuit and enjoyed becoming part of the team. Oli set PB's in almost every session and was very good at making improvements to his driving after chatting to me about where he could improve, and finished as 1st Novice We all headed home, tired sweaty, sunburnt, but happy from a very productive weekend Until next time... - Piers

05.01.2022 A little preview for the weekend. Oliver Cottam will be racing for the first time at Kimbolton this weekend. Kimbolton is a great circuit near Huntingdon with A history that goes back over 50 years. For those who don’t know the circuit, and for Oli’s help here are a couple of onboard laps in Mini X30 last year
