21.01.2022 The club is delighted to announce and congratulate Chris Pearson who has been appointed as our new 1st XI captain for season 2020/21! Chris has been an integral part of the club's leadership group for several seasons now and his attitude and willingness to succeed has made him the perfect fit to lead us into the next phase of the club's history. "I've been a part of watching this team build itself for a number of seasons now," Chris said. "I'm excited to have the opportunit...y to hopefully lead the team to some success." We would also like to take this time to thank and acknowledge Jay Mahen for the efforts and contribution he has made to the club in the past three seasons as 1st XI captain.

19.01.2022 It is with a heavy heart that the club received news today of the passing of Clive Whittington. Whilst most of today's Roaders won't remember Clive, he was a very successful and important part of the Club's early years. He began playing with Syndal Presbyterians (one of the clubs that merged to form Monash) in our 2nd year of 1965/66, and in that season he was the 1st player to score a ton for the Club. In his 2nd season he played in the Club's first premiership, and he went ...on to captain the 1st XI for 3 seasons. More recently Clive has been instrumental in providing information about the early days of the club, as we investigate our own history. He has also been kind enough to donate a number of items of memorabilia to our ever increasing display at Tally Ho, and was always interested in how the club is progressing. He was particularly proud of our introduction of a women's team last season. Once a Roader: Always a Roader. Rest in Peace, Clive. See more

Both days of cricket had momentum swings but with runs on the board and Owen bowling superbly, we were able to come away with the win.... To all Roaders and our community, We hope you are well during these tough times both physically and mentally. Currently, there are thousands of Australians who are mentally struggling due to the implications of COVID-19.... If you are struggling, please reach out. Whether that be to a professional organisation such as Beyond Blue (https://www.beyondblue.org.au/) or Lifeline (13 11 14), to our Mental Health First Aid accredited Roader, Lou James, or just to someone you feel comfortable speaking to, it is important to not let any of these struggles get the better of you. While we are just a local sporting club, the high level of comradery and support amongst Roaders is something we are always known for. Limit your drinking, stay active and stay connected with each other. We will get through this together.

03.01.2022 The playing season for the juniors officially concluded on Saturday, with the Under 13's (white) team's Final at Tally Ho and a Super 7's parents vs kids game a...t Larpent Reserve. The pressure got to the U/13's who batted & bowled well but had their worst game in the field for the season, dropping 6 catches, proving the old adage that "catches win matches". Having said that, most of our kids are bottom age, while most of the opposition were top age, so to finish on top of the ladder at the end of the season - and to finish 2nd in their first year at the grade is a magnificent result. Everyone who played in the match at Larpent had a great morning (as seen below) although the parents were a bit stiff. Yet again, the parents lost on the last ball of the day. We suspect that the pressure got to them as well, as this is the 3rd year in a row that they have lost by the narrowest of margins. Highlight of the day was coach of the Super 7's (white) team Roger McKinnon being bowled by gun bowler (& his son) Lucas McKinnon. We now look forward to seeing everyone at Larpent Reserve next Saturday for Presentation Day.
