Developed in collaboration between clinicians at Monash Children's Hospital and Monash Young MedTech Innovators. It is designed to reduce misdosage risk during pediatric emergencies so that clinicians and caregivers can focus on providing the best standard of care.... Currently, the app is in closed alpha stages and are looking for feedback from students on placement, clinicians, junior doctors, nurses and more to shape early development and get early access (Android only at this time) Features in Alpha Version 1.1.0: Age / weight-based recommendation for common drugs, found in Monash Paediatric Emergency Book (2nd edition, 2018). Drug information organised by common paediatric emergency interventions. Search function by drugs or intervention and display instructions. Accent colours according to Broselow tape conventions. Select multiple drugs at once and display all instructions in one screen. Detailed dilution and infusion instructions in the final display screen. Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a condition that affects not only individuals but their families. For children of parents with MS, the diagnosis, symptoms and sometimes regression of their parent can be a frightening and frustrating experience. Similarly, explaining symptoms to their children can be both time consuming and emotionally taxing for the parent. Project Teddy Bear aims to create an interactive, fun and educational iPad game that solves the issue of explaining a complex disease and its inherent challenges to a child. The app will focus on alleviating the temporal and emotional burden that parents with MS bear when explaining MS symptoms to their children. The Project Teddy Bear team is aiming to remove the stress and confusion experienced by the child when they do not understand why their parent is experiencing a certain symptom.

10.01.2022 Calling all clinicians and allied health professionals! Clinical need proposals for the Monash Healthcare Innovation Summer Scholarships (HISS) Program for 2020/2021 are now open! HISS is dedicated to educating future innovators within healthcare whilst generating projects and concepts with potential for tangible real world clinical outcomes. Past projects have contributed towards successful Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) grants and real world implementation. After a s...uccessful pilot program over the summer of 2019/2020, we are pleased to announce that HISS will be offered again over 2020/2021, in a collaboration between MYMI, MIME and Monash Partners. Clinicians with a potential clinical need or idea are invited to put forward a proposal for support and exploration over a 11 week program (November 2020 - February 2021). What’s in it for you: Mentor and work with highly motivated interdisciplinary teams of students Develop a concept or validate an idea to address your clinical need Identify routes for collaboration between disciplines and departments Learn about technology and human-centered design in healthcare and how your research can be translated into practice in a real world setting Potential for follow on funding and support post program for the next stage of development, implementation or translation.
