21.01.2022 Opening of the season for MBYC, with speeches from Commodore Rod Marshall and Patron Adriana Taylor, followed by BBQ lunch. Big thanks to Mark and Jacqui Kingsley for preparing a wonderful BBQ lunch, which was enjoyed by all. Looks like we are all looking forward to the next one
20.01.2022 Sabre events this season thanks to Matt Westland; The State Titles are being held at Midway Point on January 9th and 10th. There seems lots of interest in the class so we should see a good fleet size. This season we have instigated a travellers Trophy for Sabres. We will combine the results from the following events for prizes in overall and handicap formats.... Pittwater Regatta 5th and 6th December 2020 Royal Hobart Regatta Saturday 6th Feb 2021 Itzaboat Race ( Lindisfarne) Sunday 7th Feb 2021 Blockbuster PDYC Feb 27th and 28th 2021 Note: The Royal Hobart regatta and Itzaboat race have been configured to make it easier for Northern sailors to travel down for a weekender. Sailors can rig at LSC and sail over to the regatta grounds for afternoon races on Saturday and then leave boats rigged at LSC overnight ready for Itzaboat on Sunday.

19.01.2022 A good Show Day Holiday for sailing the RC Yachts at Montrose Bay Yacht Club. Seven sailors spending up to 5hrs sailing/racing/testing the A Class and IOM Yachts. The club welcomes potential sailors of all ages and abilities. We have a supply of Sabre and Pacer dinghy's for potential members to try. also, if you like to sail, but feel you aren't quite up to the dinghy sailing for any reason, the Radio Controlled yachts are also sailing on a regular basis.
17.01.2022 Couple from today sailing, great to have a couple of pacers out on the water as well.
16.01.2022 A few more pics from today’s sailing
15.01.2022 The MBYC sailing season has begun! Thank you to our club patron Adriana Taylor for attending to declare the season open. Thanks also to all sailors and family members who attended our long table lunch. What a wonderful way to start the season! Let's hope for a bit more breeze next week so that we get some action shots.
14.01.2022 Forecast for Saturday isnt bad but its been changing all week. I have a couple of things to tidy up on the boat so will be at the club around 10, if the weather holds should be OK for a spin around the bay if anyone is interested. The radio controlled guys will be there also.
14.01.2022 Some pics from today. Wasn't shifty at all. Wind direction never moved more than 180 degrees every ten seconds.
12.01.2022 Opening Day for the 2020-21 season is on Sunday the 11th October 2020. Official Opening at 11.00am and racing to commence by 1.30pm.
11.01.2022 Final Pennant results. Looking strangely like the Club Championship results. Well done Ken and Dave again.
10.01.2022 Radio Controlled sailing was on this weekend, but we also saw some Sabres out in the ideal (but very cold) conditions on Saturday. David and Paul enjoying the river
10.01.2022 The season might be over for the dinghy's, however our friends from Risdon Brook Radio Yacht Club are maintaining a presence on Sundays from 10am. Visitors are welcome to come and have a look at the fun involved in Radio Controlled Sailing. Who knows, you might end up with a transmitter in your hands as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gd4b0aCCd3c
10.01.2022 Nice breeze Sunday with just enough shifts to make it interesting. Phil Smith took the handicap honours with Ken scoring two line honours and Paul one. With Dave hovering on everyone's transom all day it's going to be an interesting season. Special mentions for Mike and Hayden for keeping us honest
10.01.2022 With the sailing season now commenced we would love to see more people coming along and having a go, if you love the water but not wanting to sail we would also love some more rescue boat volunteers both drivers or crew. Please inbox for more information.
07.01.2022 Up to date Pennant results after Sunday. Another beautiful day on the water.
06.01.2022 Updated Pennant results are up on the website. http://montrosebayyc.com.au/race-results/
05.01.2022 While we are currently not sailing both due to covid-19 but also due to being off season I’m pleased to inform that radio sailing will soon be resuming at Montrose bay. If this is something you wanted to try come and check it out.
05.01.2022 Results for our first Carl Docherty trophy. The big fella would have loved that breeze. Also up on http://montrosebayyc.com.au/race-results/
04.01.2022 Another fantastic day on the water. Close racing across the fleet, good job Mike (hero for the day)
02.01.2022 Online registration for PDYC Blockbuster regatta. They need to know numbers due to covid so there will NOT be any registration on the day as in past years. https://pdyc.yachting.org.au/events/88193/
01.01.2022 Awesome breeze from the North which was unexpected. Slightly shifty but fairly steady and perfect for tactical sailing. 4 different sabres swapping the lead about 8 times. Mike cleaned up on handicap in the NS.
