23.01.2022 This nurses pocket watch is circa 1919 and case is made from 14ct gold with some beautiful detailing around the side. The watchmaker Elgin came to life in 1864 and for nearly 100 years the company's manufacturing complex in Elgin, Illinois, was the largest site dedicated to watchmaking in the world!

Born in New South Wales in 1930, painter and sculptor Lovett studied at East Sydney Technical College with artist and teacher G K Townshend, initially on watercolours and later oil paintings. He was an Associate Member of the Royal Art Society of New South Wales and Official Artist to the Snowy Mountains A...uthority from 1950 to 1968. He became known for his outback Australian themes, especially with horses and cattle, but later diversified into a wider variety of subjects including the human figure and city scenes. He has travelled extensively, and painted from many exotic locations in Asia, Europe, America, the Middle East and the Pacific Islands. He has held numerous solo exhibitons since 1963 in Australia, the USA and Dubai. A number of his paintings have been presented to foreign parliaments by the Australian Government. See more
