Oh and by the way if you find out how to breath in these masks and see with your glasses on could you please let me know. Thinking of all of you, Pam and staff

14.01.2022 Moomba Swim School has just finished our first term for 2019. Welcome to all our new first term swimmers, babies, pre-schoolers, school children squad members, adults and parents. You have put in an amazing first term of swimming, with mostly race work for the school children. Next term our in-house aggregate will take place. There will be a big range of winners including some unexpected ones. Congratulations to the Mentone Girls’ Grammar students for obtaining your first Bronze Medallions. Hope everybody has a wonderful break and a great Easter. Stay safe and well. Pam and Staff
14.01.2022 Contacting Moomba Parents and grand parents, preferably call us at the desk (97863324) rather than through Facebook. Our register is at the desk and it is easier to refer directly to your name. Thank you for your consideration, Pam
14.01.2022 Merry Christmas from the Moomba Swim School Seaford
13.01.2022 Dear Moomba kids and families, Hope you are all being good for your parents/carers at this testing time. Also hope the Easter Bunny came to your houses as he did mine, he left footprints everywhere! And chocolate eggs! Just letting you all know what I have been busy doing this last few weeks wellHeaps! I have been in my garden pruning trees, weeding, mowing and also observing the beautiful rainbow lorikeets, cockatoos and galas. I have also been growing some little tomatoes,... which I have never grown before! they are delicious and actually very easy to grow! I have also been cooking! I have been making triple chocolate muffins and some doughnuts which tasted great. I have been watching some movies and I am hoping to watch Toy Story 4 this week as I have not seen it yet. I hope if you have animals you are giving them lots of cuddles as I do my cats Raven (Black girl cat) and Ollie (boy other cat) I haven’t done much walking as I’m not a fan (bit like Pam) although I do go for a big walk at least twice a week, because it is good for me! As I have four teenage kids they usually keep me busy in the week too, especially making them food! Big congratulations to the arrival of Stephanie’s (Chase and Louise’ mum) new baby and Phyllis’s new grandbaby and big hugs to all. Anyway be kind to each other missing you all, hope to see you all soon. Jacki xxx P.S. Emily our evening swimming teacher will message everyone next week.

11.01.2022 Merry Christmas to all our AMAZING Swimmers, Parents, Teachers & Staff Moomba Swim School will be closed for the Christmas break from Monday 17 December 2018 and reopen on Wednesday 30 January 2019. Congratulations to all the talented swimmers who passed their Bronze Medallion, Bronze Star and Life Saving Victoria Swim and Survive. How proud we are of you. Many thanks to my hard working staff Lilly, Jacki, Emily, Reanne, Kirsty, Phyllis and Jenny for all the help with Facebook. Last but not least Doug. To all my staff, students and parents have a joyous Christmas with your family but most importantly have a peaceful and fulfilling New Year.

10.01.2022 Here we are in the third term already. Congratulations to all the swimmers who participated in our swimming aggregate. Teachers were thrilled at the improvements they saw in their swimmers. Congratulations to Koby who broke the backstroke record. Well done. Moomba will be doing Life Saving Vic’s Swim & Survive this term and hope to see even more improvement in the swimmers. One of our most popular teachers Reanne left us to take up a nursing career. Reanne you are wish...ed all the best, Nursing’s gain is our loss. There will be a new adults class for beginners and not so fit swimmers stating this term in the evening. It is hoped many parents will come along. If you are interested give reception a call. There was an article in the Australian Leisure magazine describing the results of a study by Dr. Steven Blair at the University of South Caroline showing swimming dramatically reduces the risk of dying. The study spanned 32 years and followed 40,000 men aged between 20 and 90 years of age. Those who swam had a 50% lower death rate than runners, walkers and those who didn’t exercise at all. It postpones the aging process according to traditional age markers like muscle mass, blood pressure and lung function. Oh well it sounds like it is worth a go shall we try? Pam See more

08.01.2022 Hi All, How are you going with online schooling? Hope Mum and Dad are learning a lot. Who would believe that a walk around the block would be the highlight of my day (I hate walking), I’d much prefer to be swimming or teaching. However I now have a game called "spot the bird", "the plane", Superman is yet to come into sight, but oh great joy there are some of Moomba’s Swimmers who give me a lovely smile and wave hello. Matilda and Harry with their Mum, the next day I run in...to the other Matilda and her Mum riding their bikes. Another time Connor’s Mum or the twins on their scooters. Then the baby in the stroller who comes to swimming and one of Moomba’s favourite grandmothers Jenny with her great smile and my life feels normal once again. Doug has been repairing the top far side of the dome. It has been a big job and taken 3 weeks. Only Dougs’ head can be seen sticking out on the top of the dome but as long as I can see it I know he’s ok. It’s a very red head as he has got a bit of wind burn (I’ll tell you about my experience on the roof next time). Phyllis from the desk has a brand new grandson, congratulations. Miss you all so much, keep it altogether. Yours Pam. P.S. Jackie our morning teacher will be in touch next week.

02.01.2022 Hello Moomba members, It's my turn this week to let you know what's been happening with me, Lilly, during this very unusual time of isolation. Firstly, I'd like to wish all the mothers and grandmothers a belated Happy Mother's Day. I hope you were all thoroughly spoilt despite being unable to go out anywhere. I hope you are all well and coping with being cooped up at home. How are you all going with home schooling? I bet it's a challenge for all involved. My eldest daugh...ter is a Grade 4 teacher and I know she has to put in a lot of extra work making videos and setting up things to make life a little easier on her students and their parents. Hopefully your teachers are doing the same for you. Mums and Dads - hang in there. I'm sure you're doing a GREAT job. I've been keeping myself busy cleaning every room in our house - even the windows and curtains. This week I'm hoping to do a little gardening. I'm not very good with plants as I tend to love them too much and probably give them too much water, so I've decided to try my black thumb with succulents. I've been doing some research on Pinterest and think I can manage to grow some. I'm off to Bunnings to buy supplies after I've scrubbed a few terracotta pots clean. Ugh! More cleaning. Then I'll have fun making up some lovely displays. My favourite hobby though, is cross stitching and I've started a new project making 4 flower pictures for my sister-in-law's birthday. I've actually not minded being in isolation, although I very much miss my two daughters who live away from us, and my sister. Thank goodness for video calls of which I'm getting quite used to doing these days with family and friends. I can't wait to see them and be able to give lots of hugs to. I miss being at work and seeing all of your lovely faces. Hopefully we'll see you all back at Moomba Swim School in a few short weeks. In the meantime, be kind to yourselves and each other and stay strong. - Lilly x
01.01.2022 Hi everyone! Wishing you all a late Happy Easter. It was such a different Easter than we are used to wasn’t it? The Easter Bunny left so much chocolate eggs at my house that we are still tiring to get them all eaten.... I hope everyone is loving their new teachers at home. This home-schooling stuff is quite cool. I love seeing my kids do their schoolwork as it’s something that I don’t normally get to see. Even though some days their toys, tv and Xbox are a big temptation, and they don’t want to do any schoolwork. I know my kids can’t wait to get rid of me as their teacher and go back to school and see their friends. My silly dog seemed a bit unwell a few weeks ago. We took her to the Vet, and she had something in her tummy. The Vet did surgery to remove it and found a sock in there. She is such a goofy dog! Other than that, I have been trying to keep busy at home. I have been doing lots of walking, scooting, bike riding and playing on the monkey bars in my backyard with my 3 kids. We went on a camping trip in our lounge room and watched some movies in the tent. We have been making lots of crafts in our house. We made a volcano, gems, Mother’s Day presents for Grandmothers, lots of t-shirts and I’m going to make a cake today for my son’s Birthday next week. I can’t wait for all this to be over and we can get back into the pool! I have been missing all of my after-school kids and Sunday kids so much. I love watching you all learn and grow. I hope you see you all really soon. Em xxx
