25.01.2022 A few days ago I mentioned I would be sharing a few training tips and videos of what I look for in a good, safe trail horse. Even though it may be difficult for some of you to get out and about with your horses at the moment, this is definitely something you can practice in the arena, or paddock, if you are able to, so you have the tools ready for when you are able to get out and about again. As always, questions are encouraged.... Thanks for watching ~ Sacha See more

25.01.2022 Taking my time with this boy. More than anything he needs to gain confidence within himself.

24.01.2022 Thankyou Tayla for requesting this information on my last tutorial post. If you have a question you would like me to answer, please feel free to ask, and over the coming months I will endeavour to answer your question with a similar video. Thanks for watching!... ~ Sacha See more

22.01.2022 Thankyou so much Jess, for your review. It is an absolute pleasure to be a part of this team.

21.01.2022 I will be available in the Longford area for private lessons at your place this Tuesday 26th May. Please PM me if you would like any more info. Horsemanship / groundwork / ridden. Confidence building for horses and riders. Handling issues (picking up feet, tie up, float loading, hard to catch).

20.01.2022 I hope you have all been able to enjoy your horses with the easing of restrictions this week. Another helpful tip to keep you safe on the trails. ~ Sacha

20.01.2022 Long time no posts! I am happy to say that with all the restrictions, I am still able to, and have been busy teaching and supporting my clients and their horses in rural Gippsland. Over Winter I have been adding to my training facilities here at Moondarra Horsemanship and I pleased to share my arena, newly completed today.... I am very much looking forward to my first ride, once this wild weather lets up! I am also looking forward to hosting many clinics and lessons here over the coming months. Huge thankyou to MJM Excavations Harvest and Haulage for the amazing job they have done. I couldn't be happier. ~ Sacha

19.01.2022 The warmer weather is allowing me to be consistent with this boy's training. Fynn has now graduated from the roundyard to the big sandpit and beyond.

19.01.2022 Thankyou Esther for your amazing words. I love sharing these reviews, not because it gives me an inflated ego lol! but because I love to make a difference for people with their horses.

18.01.2022 A picture perfect day for lessons in the arena and out on the trail

17.01.2022 It's been so wet up here lately, we have mud everywhere, including a sloppy, sandy mess in the roundyard. Can you guess which piece of equipment this breaker had on for the first time today?

16.01.2022 I will be available in the Drouin / Warragul area for private lessons at your place this Tuesday 19th May. Please PM me if you would like any more info. Horsemanship / groundwork / ridden. Confidence building for horses and riders. Handling issues (picking up feet, tie up, float loading, hard to catch).

16.01.2022 Due to overwhelming interest in the clinic on Sat 28th Nov, I have decided to run a second day, with the same program on Sunday 29th Nov

16.01.2022 Love that my clients are making the most of the last of the sunny Autumn days A great lesson today in Hazelwood North ... Christine, you did a bloody awesome job working through some testing times with your boy .... and came through with a really positive outcome. Tomorrow morning I am coaching in Longford and then back teaching in my own backyard in the afternoon.

15.01.2022 First ride today. What an absolute gentleman

15.01.2022 It's a good day to be indoors

14.01.2022 Once my clients have a handle on body control of their horse in a controlled environment, it's time to head out on the trails to bring it all together and put newly learned skills to the test. This week I headed to Newry and when I was offered this client's beautiful Gypsy Cob mare to ride so I could instruct out and about, how could I say no .

14.01.2022 Fynn's first training session out of the roundyard. A big step for this man. He has no trouble dealing with noise and movement around him, but has had issues in the past accepting external noise and movement whilst being "restricted" with gear and harness. Now, rather than reacting and bolting, I have taught him to stop, think, evaluate and then move forward quietly. After a little helping hand once we stepped out of the roundyard, Fynn was happy to go wherever I drove him.... Back to ridden work in the roundyard and arena to clarify all he has learnt already, then its time to venture out and about

13.01.2022 ** Thankyou ** This week marks 12 months since the beginnings of Moondarra Horsemanship. I have been overwhelmed by your support and have thoroughly loved being so busy coaching and supporting clients and their horses, especially during this difficult and confronting time.... I am very much looking forward to taking a break next week (even if in the current climate it is at home!). I look forward to being back on board from 11th July for lessons and training. Until then, stay warm , stay safe and stay healthy ~ Thankyou, Sacha

12.01.2022 I had a great workout with this fella this morning

11.01.2022 THANKYOU! I am completely blown away by the amazing support of all my clients and followers throughout the 2020 year. I am extremely appreciative of the patience of those that have placed their name on the waiting list for their horses to come in to Moondarra Horsemanship for training.... For me, it has all happened so quickly, but rest assured the wheels are in motion to set my training facility up to accommodate all of you over this summer season. What started with 1 paddock for client's horses, a roundyard and more recently an arena, will very soon be expanded to 6 private paddocks, ready and waiting for those of you that have been patient on my waiting list for training. I look forward to working with you and your horses very soon. ~ thankyou, Sacha

11.01.2022 First clinic on the new arena! So great to be back after the lock downs and stress of 2020, doing what I love. It was so rewarding to see existing and new clients learn and progress, and I thank each of you for coming along to participate - riders and fence sitters alike. ... The key to confidence is knowledge and having the right selection of tools in your toolbox to help you through any situation. I am very much looking forward running more of these clinics in the new year. ~ Sacha

11.01.2022 The new sand pit at Moondarra Horsemanship has been christened and I couldn't be happier. Looking forward to many happy hours riding and teaching here. ~ Sacha

10.01.2022 I got caught in the moment while I was teaching today and forgot to take photos during the session. So here is what Billy got up to after his workout.... Social isolation also means that not only do we get to exercise the horse during a lesson, but the art of conversation is also exercised with riders - talking about training routines and plans is vital at this time to keep both horses and their owners motivated, focused and content. If you are lucky enough to be able to spen...d time with your horse, what are you focused on at the moment - either training wise or just quality time spent with your mate? ~ Sacha

07.01.2022 Each week I have the absolute pleasure of working with Esther and her Standardbred gelding, Scooter. These two are building an amazing partnership from the ground up. Please contact me if you are in the WON WRON, TRARALGON area or anywhere in between if you are needing any assistance with your horse.... ~ Sacha

07.01.2022 Please PM me if you would like any more info

04.01.2022 After teaching my regular fortnightly lesson in Longford this morning, I then popped over to sunny Stratford where I had the pleasure of meeting Kirstyn and her new mare. Kirstyn had her very first solo ride today, hence the smile . I look forward to helping this team grow together! I am in the STRATORD / SALE area on a regular / weekly basis so please feel free to contact me if you are needing assistance with your riding / groundwork and all things Horsemanship.... ~ Sacha See more

04.01.2022 The last days of Autumn are shaping up to be great time to be in the saddle. Today saw me teaching in LONGFORD, helping a client with her just off the track Thoroughbred. Rachel and her boy are destined for the dressage ring. We are taking our time setting up a strong foundation right from the beginning, so when we start stepping up with training, it will make communication with the horse easier and clearer.... I am now regularly in the Longford / Sale and surrounds for lessons so feel free to get in touch if I can help. ~ Sacha

04.01.2022 Lilly demonstrating that socialising is an important part of the training process here at MH

02.01.2022 Desensitising? Hold my beer ... I got this

01.01.2022 Good morning!! Over the next few weeks I will be sharing some short videos / tutorials of some helpful exercises you can practice at home in readiness for the day you can once again hit the trails!!! The videos will be shared on this page so keep an eye out and please feel free to ask questions ... Stay well Sacha

01.01.2022 Thankyou Kirsty for beautifully capturing the day. You are an amazing dog trainer and gifted photographer. Please take some time to check out Kristy's page and give it a like

01.01.2022 I spent today teaching at Stoneleigh Equestrian Centre in Darnum. I worked with some lovely horses and their owners, teaching private lessons in both groundwork and ridden. Body control of the horse, rider position, desensitizing and even a few small obstacles made for a super day. Pictured here is Sue and her absolute gentleman of a quaterhorse Dude. We worked on Sue's position and asking Dude to soften in the bridle and work in a frame.... Thankyou to everyone who came along today for a lesson. You all did an amazing job. ~ Sacha

01.01.2022 How lucky was I to get to work with a different type of equine today ... Molly the mule. Up til now this sweet girl has had a rough life, but through a rescue organisation, Molly has finally found the care and love she deserves. My job today was to help Molly being to accept the fly mask to shield all that pink skin around her eyes from the sun. She is very head shy, so it is small steps slowly, and knowing when to quit was very important.... Also important today, was to begin the process of helping Molly accept having her body and legs touched, so we can get those prescious little hooves trimmed. I look forward to sharing more of Molly's progress with you soon. ~ Sacha
