21.01.2022 In the early hours of this morning, several businesses in Moonee Market were ransacked. These are locally owned and run businesses. These are businesses that at the height of the fire season, supported Moonee Brigade and its firefighters. We need to support the businesses that support us. 18.01.2022 With very active storms passing through our area tonight, we urge property owners to check their properties for potential strike points. Even with rain, struck trees (sleepers or candles) can burn internally for long periods of time. As we are all aware, lighting strikes can easily start bushfires as was witnessed last season.

15.01.2022 RFS Hazard Reduction operations are being undertaken at Deervale over the next couple of days. 11.01.2022 HAZARD REDUCTION OR BACKBURN... WHICH IS WHICH? With multiple HR’s going on around the state at present, we think it’s important to address some commonly mixed up terms... A common question we get is What is the difference between a HR and a backburn? Here is the answer to that question. Hazard Reduction: Hazard Reductions or HRs are one method used to prepare for oncoming bushfire seasons. They're planned, resourced and also used for training new firefighters. It doesn't remove the threat of fire, and doesn't reduce the need for you to have your property and family prepared. There are several different types of undertaking Hazard Reduction (HR). These include: Controlled burning Mechanical clearing (such as clearing undergrowth and ground fuels) Removing fuel by hand. Backburning: Backburning operations are conducted to remove fuel in front of an active oncoming fire. This is usually conducted at a distance from that fire. This is done by properly trained, resourced and experienced firefighters. Utilising the firebreak, firefighters can introduce fire to fight an oncoming fire. Hence the term I’m sure many of you have heard to fight fire with fire

03.01.2022 Speeding Kills Speeding severely injures Speeding changes lives forever Please be safe on our roads... https://www.facebook.com/251076118311745/posts/3339844312768228/?vh=e&extid=8exlj2onNrA2I4c8&d=n

02.01.2022 The message just doesn't seem to be getting through. We can beg and plead with people to be safe on the roads, but in the end the responsibility lies with drivers every time they get behind the wheel. People need to think of their own safety, and the chain reaction of pain that these accident cause to the families of those involved, and the emergency services personnel who have to witness the aftermath. Don't be silly on the roads this Christmas Season https://www.nbnnews.com.au//police-frustrated-by-coffs-c/
