25.01.2022 Opening hours as normal except Friday / closed, Monday /closed. We will be trading on Saturday from 9 until 2. For all our fresh food arrivals expect them to be a day early. Fresh fruit and veg will arrive on Wed afternoon instead of Thursday for example.

25.01.2022 Planting right up until the rain came. All done in the nick of time. 6,500 Inkeri's garlic and a couple of hundred russian garlic ( a strain which was found in some old beds on the Snowy River. Keeping our for spring and having them in Moontree sometime in November.

Grow well right through the season. Yes I've grown them and I'll allways put them in the mix. Have a crack at some of the not so well known varieties like collective farm women melons, zatta(the ugly but tasty Italian), Hungarian yellow sweet capsicums, atomic red and solar yellow(Yugoslavian) carrots. Crystal apple cucumbers were a great old garden variety, you don't see them on the shelves. Lettuce, little gem I have been told does very well, tastes great and provides tender leaves for a long season. Have fun with our diverse selection. Cheers.

19.01.2022 You dont know what youve got till its gone. We have some of the best produce in the world, we used to have a lot more. Now the best of our produce is either exported or is simply not grown at all. How sad was it seeing our citrus growers pulling up acres and acres of trees. I dont get it. Take a pineapple. How can people eat that tastless imported mush in favour of our own wonderful tropical produce. Does saving a few cents really mean that much? Enjoy and support Australian grown produce and get our food security back on track. You know some of our biggest supermarkets have played the biggest part in the decline of Australian production. Dont let em do it. Demand Australian.

08.01.2022 Time to plant! Hard to get stock! Why am I happy? Apparently high demand for heritage seeds is a worldwide phenomina and that means its hard for us to keep stock on the shelves. No matter, we are ordering frequently and as stocks come into Eden Seeds In Queensland they send us what they can. Why am I happy? Because apparently a lot more people are realizing the value of growing some or all of their own vegetables and experiencing the extra delight that comes from growing heritage home garden varieties.

02.01.2022 Cooler weather and a few drops of rain, bless em have provided a little respite from the constant angst of heat, wind and fires. Heres a little update for Moontree and suppliers and a few pics from home at Numeralla. Tomorrow we will resume running to Canberra. We will pick up 2 pallets of organic fruit and vegatables and Mosaics sourdoughs, we may not get all the sourdoughs ordered as mosaics have (understandably) had difficulty getting flour in the last week or two. We ...received an order of Ancient grains breads this morning. Grateful for that as we were not sure about transport from Melbourne. Not sure when we will get Tilba milk with the Clyde closed. The wonderful people at Tilba were supplying all the fire fighters with milk as they could not transport to Canberra or here. Canobolas Eggs will be picked up along with donated boxes of eggs that we will get to the people of Cobargo via Rythm sports. Thank you Rob from Canobolas. The signs were there (for those who could read them) leading up to this terrible fire season. While doing some hazard reduction on a property near Bibbenluke recently we observed large Gums splitting or shattering on impact. Hadnt seen this before. The bush has been exhibiting signs of more and more stress for years now. The prediction for increased food prices has now been exasabated by the impact of widespread fires.
