19.01.2022 Moranbah Early Learning Centre would like to invite members of the Moranbah community to display their artwork in our centre foyer. Every couple of months we will feature a local artist, why? Our children take great pride in creating their artwork and take inspiration from many sources, we feel that our community could provide the inspiration to nurture the next Picasso. Who knows? The possibilities are endless. Next week our children will be given the opportunity to recreate... the "Shark" painting in the photo during our art masterclass. This month our featured artist is Marcus Brightmore. Marcus is a very talented local artist and photographer. All of the paintings in the pictures are currently for sale. If you would like to be a featured artist in our foyer and inspire the next generation of artists please email [email protected] See more

14.01.2022 Welcoming a new addition to the family is an interesting time, especially when it comes to introducing them to siblings. At MELC some of our families have recently welcomed a new baby, and there are more on their way! This article from raisingchildren.net.au gives some great guidance in preparing children to welcome a new little person into your home. One of the suggestions is to read books about welcoming siblings. In the MELC library we have two fantastic books available to borrow. Youre a Big Sister, and, Youre a Big Brother, from authors David Bedford and Susie Poole, give a delightful introduction into the joys of being a elder sibling. What preparation methods did you take when welcoming a new addition to the family? Did books similar to these help? What did and didnt work for you?

10.01.2022 MELC is shouting a great big THANK YOU to the superheros in scrubs, our wonderful nurses, on this International Nurses Day (IND). You deserve recognition for the tireless work you do in our communities to mend us, reassure us and keep us safe. IND is an international day observed around the world on 12 May (the anniversary of Florence Nightingales birth) of each year, to mark the contributions that nurses make to society (source Wikipedia).
