24.01.2022 MOREE MARKET UPDATE Hello Everyone We have been receiving messages asking when the Moree Markets will recommence, as other markets have started to re-commence.... Moree Shire Council is reviewing the situation on a weekly basis - unfortunately there will be no market in July. We will continue to keep you updated on the progress. Thank you for your patience.

13.01.2022 From Moree Plains Shire Council Moree Markets COVID-19 Pandemic As you may be aware, Moree Plains Shire Council looks after Jellicoe Park where the Moree Markets take place on the first Sunday of each month.... The restrictions that have been imposed by the NSW Government in response to the COVID-19 pandemic are detailed in Public Health Orders. Being responsible for Jellicoe Park means we need to ensure we comply with the Public Health Orders which relate to that site. At the present time, markets are not permitted to be open to the public unless the market is one which predominately sells food. The Moree Markets are characterised as predominantly a craft market; thus are not yet permitted to be reopened. Further, when this restriction is lifted, we will be working with the Local Area Command (police) to consider how other restrictions may be managed. This will include social distancing; limitations on gathering; increased cleaning of amenity blocks etc. Please note that Council’s Crisis Management Team are taking direct advice from the NSW Minister for Health Brad Hazzard and the NSW Chief Medical Officer Dr Kerry Chant in regular local government briefings to stay across developments for our services, including markets. As you would appreciate, the landscape is changing rapidly and we will be working with the 1st Moree Scouts Group who manage the Moree Markets to monitor developments for the markets for the coming months.

11.01.2022 PLEASE SHARE: Moree Show Society invites the residents of Moree to stand at the head of their driveways, out on kerbsides and nature strips, atop balconies and on front decks and verandahs at 5.50am on Saturday, April 25 Anzac Day and pay homage to past and current armed services personnel who have fought and are still fighting for our freedom. The Last Post, a Piper’s Lament, the Ode and Reveille will be played from loudspeakers at Moree Showground from 6am.... Lest We Forget
