23.01.2022 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT After much consideration and consultation, the decision to POSTPONE the 2020 Moree Show has been made by the Moree Show Society comm...ittee. The new show dates will be the 14th and 15th August 2020. Given the fluidity of the current environment we will keep the public updated on any further changes closer to the date. We have spent considerable time reviewing over all options. We understand how important Ag shows are to not only our local communities, but also to the traders exhibitors and members of the showman’s guild, who’s livelihood heavily rely on Ag Shows. The last thing we wished to do was cancel altogether. We’ve come to this decision with the best interests of our community, sponsors, supporters and committee; given current government restrictions in place involving COVID-19. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors for their generosity and continued support. Also, to the public for your understanding and patience at this difficult time. 15.01.2022 Please be advised that our lovely caretakers, John and Anne, will be leaving us for cooler climes in Armidale (date to be advised). We will miss them very much and thank them for their hard work over the past 2.5 years. 04.01.2022 Update on Moree Showground, NSW With all of NSW in lockdown from 5.00pm today, we wish to advise that Moree Showground is now closed for camping until Saturday, 11 September, 2021. We will only accept campers for the following reasons:... 1. Travellers with no fixed address, such as those living in mobile homes 2. Those in transit to their permanent address We will NOT be accepting travellers who have left hotspot areas. If you have any queries please contact our Caretakers prior to arrival on 0428 205 098. We are also requesting that if you are fully self-contained and have on-board amenities that you use those and maintain social distancing. Moree Showground does have a dump point available for your use. The dump point is not available to the general public. We thank you for your patience and understanding and please stay safe.

03.01.2022 Expressions of Interest Volunteer Caretaker Position Moree Showground Expressions of Interest are invited for the volunteer caretaking service of the Moree Showgrounds. The caretaking service is a key appointment which will provide successful applicants with a challenging and rewarding situation in a progressive and dynamic town situated at the heart of NSW’s northern wheatbelt and recognized nationally as Australia’s Artesian Spa Capital. Moree is a town rich in culture, h...eritage, agriculture and natural assets which intertwine to define the characteristics of both the town and the community. As caretakers you will be the first point of contact for many visitors to the Moree area, a cheery disposition and outlook in our caretakers is vital. The Moree Showground site is used for caravan, RV and camping overnight stays, and for regular and one-off sporting, recreation, cultural and community events and pursuits. The Moree Showground Crown Land Manager is responsible for managing the site and its facilities on behalf of the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment Crown Lands. The caretakers role would suit a couple whose responsibilities include undertaking visitor check-ins, collection of caravan park/camping fees, and to provide information and support services for caravan, RV and camping visitors, casual enquirers, check-in and support for events, sporting and cultural organisers and patrons and maintenance and cleaning of the grounds, buildings, toilets, showers, laundry and camp kitchen. A three bedroom air-conditioned caretaker’s cottage is provided at no charge along with utilities and NBN. All equipment and consumables for cleaning, mowing, maintenance and incidentals are funded by the Moree Showground Crown Land Manager. A mobile phone is provided for the caretaking service. Official First Aid Certificate training will be funded by the Crown Land Manager where necessary. Candidates can send their Expressions of Interest in a letter outlining their relevant experience and resume to Moree Showground Caretaker EOI, PO Box 388, Moree NSW 2400 or by email to [email protected].
