19.01.2022 Who is about to have a beautiful new self-isolation buddy? We can only imagine how this crazy time and uncertain world adds even more stress to your birth preparation. It is normal to be feeling overwhelmed and anxious. @cope.org.au have created a set of COVID-19 resources for new and expecting mothers. Among these, some of the facts available to us include:... - There is currently no evidence that COVID-19 increases your risk of miscarriage early in pregnancy. - There is currently no evidence to suggest that COVID-19 affects pregnant women more severely than the general population - There is no evidence that COVID-19 virus can pass to your unborn baby or that the virus will cause abnormalities in your baby. There is limited research on the effects of COVID-19 so, with this in mind, it important you take extra precautions during this time. BUT! You are about to meet your baby. The one you have waited so long to hold in your arms. Your innocent peanut who is entirely unaware of the chaos and uncertainty unfolding around them. They are ready to be smothered in love, and THIS is certain x

14.01.2022 COVID19 - A message from us MBOG has always remained compliant and committed to the highest standards of hygiene and we have rigorously adhered to the health and safety regulations as set out by Queensland Health. During this challenging and uncertain time, we have amplified these efforts and will continue to monitor events to ensure the ongoing health and safety of our patients. ... All patients with a scheduled appointment will receive an email 5-6 days before your appointment. We encourage and urge you to read the details of this email before attending your appointment. If you have a surgery scheduled, it will go ahead as planned. If anything changes in the interim, we will contact you. For the safety of you, your baby, other patients and the entire MBOG team, it is imperative we work together to minimise the amount of patients in the room and practise appropriate hygiene. 13.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day to all the Fathers out there, especially those much loved dads in the MBOG family How are you spoiling him today?

13.01.2022 Today, on World Ovarian Cancer Day, we advocate for the mothers, sisters, daughters & friends fighting with Ovarian Cancer. We stand alongside the survivors, families and supporters whom come together and raise their voices in solidarity in the fight against the "silent killer". Ovarian Cancer is the most lethal of all female cancers - yet it is overlooked and underfunded, and every woman is at risk. Most women are diagnosed once the cancer has already spread, making it more... difficult to treat. Whats more, is that there are often delays in diagnosing the disease, as there is NO early detection test. Symptoms are often confused with other, less severe, illnesses. Here at MBOG, the fight against Ovarian Cancer is something we hold very close to our hearts. If you would like to find out more about Ovarian Cancer, or would like to donate to the Celma Mastry Ovarian Cancer Foundation, visit: https://www.ovariancancerfoundation.org/ and https://worldovariancancercoalition.org/

13.01.2022 Mothers - you are Wonder Women. But, not all superheroes wear capes (or have baby bumps). Fathers play such an important role in a childs life, yet the majority of research into the psychological effects of first-time parents transitioning into parenthood seem to focus mainly on Mothers. Recently, a PHD student from Griffith University reached out to us. She is looking for FATHERS interested in completing a survey (link below), to explore first-time fathers transitioning into parenthood. Here at MBOG, we are very interested in this area of study, and therefore encourage any Dads who can spare a moment, visit The New Dads Project

12.01.2022 Happy birthday to our dear Megan!! The big 5-oh

12.01.2022 At MBOG, it is our duty to protect our patients whilst still providing exceptional care . QLD Health has once again advised us that our outfits are never complete without a face mask. Although it is not quite the fashion statement we once envisioned, we can rest easy knowing that our little act is helping to reduce community transmission of COVID-19.

12.01.2022 A big thank you to MBOG and Dr Mastery who delivered our little girl Athena on Tuesday with the same love, care and dedication as he did with our son Odin.

02.01.2022 At 11:40am on the 21st of October, our little Henry was born. Luke and I would like to say the biggest thank you to Dr Mastry for delivering our little boy (and... little he was!) and for looking after the 3 of us so well! Such a lovely, caring doctor who is also extremely knowledgeable. Also to Dr Gill who was so supportive and caring when I was stressing, and for looking after us during our pregnancy. Dr Haseena is also the loveliest paediatrician, who looked after Henry so well in his first half an hour of life. The whole team at MBOG made the whole process such a pleasant experience, including Jane and Megan the lovely midwives who were always happy to answer any questions. We really feel we had the absolute best doctors taking care of us and I will miss our visits! Thank you so much for everything! Claire, Luke & Henry
