25.01.2022 Morley Senior High School celebrates 50 years of Excellence in 2020 In partnership with the Noranda community, a community celebration will be held on a Saturda...y in October 2020, midday till 4pm. There will be exhibitions, performances and demonstrations plus food trucks and activities for every generation. Market stalls from a variety of organisations will attend and we hope the event will give people the opportunity to connect with the local community. 16.01.2022 Morley Scouts needs your help. Back in the late 50's, Morley was booming suburb with lots of young families settling in post WW2. To cater for this influx, ...Wirrina Drive In was built to help entertain families around the area, Boans department store was established as convenient place for people to shop, and Morley Scout hall (Known as Morley Park Scouts) was built to help develop young boys into men and teach them life skills. Can you guess which one is still around 60 years later? This year we are aiming to teach our young scouts about the history of our scout hall back in the 60's, what it was like being a kid in the 60's and how scouting played a part in the local Morley community and surrounds. As scout members have moved on over the last 60 years, our history has slowly moved on and we are seeking the local communities help to piece back those memories so we are able to document it for future generations. We are looking for any photos related to Morley Scouts from the past, memorabilia from that time, or even your story as a kid growing up in Morley in the 60's (non scout related). Can you please share a story, photos or add a comment in our post. We are also seeking older scout members in our community who attended Morley Scouts during the 60's or 70's. We would love for you to be able to share your stories with our scout group. To tell them a story on how life was like as a kid in Morley during that time, and what it meant to be a scout. This person may be your father, uncle, grandfather or friend who lived in the area at the time. 15.01.2022 The ol Morley CIB station on Russell St is no more. I had the opportunity to rent her majesties accommodation back in 2016, it was a steal at $200 something per week.
