25.01.2022 Cold climate brunch. Snowy Mountains trout with fresh parsley, dill, eschalot and crispy rillete.

24.01.2022 Some country grammar from our new menu. Gnocchi, chorizo, manchego and fried egg. Same story, new chapter - starting this Saturday.

24.01.2022 The new normal. In more ways than one. Avo on sourdough with furikake, celery, cucumber, ricotta and fried egg.

24.01.2022 As we look cautiously toward a return to normality we have adjusted our operating hours.

23.01.2022 Something special to soften the sting of a fickle start to spring. Pan fried barramundi with potato galette, fresh peas and a tangy gremolata. Fish and chips, grown up.

23.01.2022 Elliot G. MG’s illustrated man and the brains behind the art that hits the pass ever day. A genuinely humble genius and straight up good dude. It is his birthday today. The happiest birthday to you chef. Ps. We can confirm he still has two working arms, contrary to the suggestion in this photo.

23.01.2022 At your service all day for great food and good times.

22.01.2022 Golden triangle. Crispy chicken bento, rich and sticky tonkatsu sauce, rice and furikake.

22.01.2022 While we are proponents of the medium generally, there is something special about a chicken burger. We keep it classic with crispy fried thigh, crisp wombok, chilli jam and French fries.

21.01.2022 A chapter ends, but the story is not over. We opened Morning Glory on 10 September 2018. We took over an established space in a building and precinct steeped in history and a fair dose of tragedy. We worked hard to re-develop the space, with a new concept and a young and energetic team. Over the past two and a half years we have had highs, lows, laughs, tears and everything in between. Through it all we have counted on a phenomenal community of regular customers, loyal supp...liers and business partners, many of which have become close friends. This is why we got into this business, and why we stay. With that said, 2020 gave us all a chance to reflect and to reconnect with our team and our customers. We have gone back to first principles, with a blank canvas, to refocus our attention on what we love about food and dining in Canberra. We are about to embark on a period of significant, and exciting, transformation and will be closing our doors temporarily from this Sunday 25 April 2021. We will be keeping you all updated throughout this process and we can’t wait to show you what we are working on. We will be back before you know it and will, of course, use the opportunity to throw a large party (or two) to celebrate. For now, we wanted to say thank you for your support over the years. We hope to see you at MG over the next week to say a short lived farewell. With love, MG team See more

20.01.2022 Breakfast gnocchi. Perhaps the only upside of being an adult. LP chorizo, sugo, manchego and a runny fried egg. No one can judge you here.

20.01.2022 Square meal in more ways than one. Grilled salmon bento box with fennel, mandarin, rice and sesame soy. Genuine soul food.

20.01.2022 Putting an Oliver Twist on the classic porridge. Polenta, quinoa with raspberry and white chocolate. Guaranteed to light you up.

16.01.2022 Friday night lights. Or in this case, reds.

16.01.2022 Today is International Burger Day. A day of sombre reflection and consumption of this great concept, in all its forms. MG stays true to the classic template: wagyu cheeseburger, jalapeño, crisp french fries and kewpie mayo.

14.01.2022 As keen as the canine that sniffed out the truffle, we too have sourced such a prized ingredient for our Truffle Mushrooms. Crispy sweet potato croquettes, mushroom, spinach, leek and a silky soft poached egg.

12.01.2022 Celebrating the important things has never been more important. 12.01.2022 A decidedly unusual year and a similarly strange second birthday. Of course, the last six months have been nothing like we expected but here we still stand. Here’s to two years of challenges, success and some failure, and hopefully many many more to come!

11.01.2022 Introducing ILY. A contemporary kitchen in the heart of Canberra. Simple, comforting food with plenty of room for surprises.

11.01.2022 ANZAC Day observed at MG. #lestweforget

10.01.2022 As keen as the canine that sniffed out the Truffle, we too have sourced such a prized ingredient for our Truffle Mushrooms. Crispy Sweet Potato croquettes, Mushroom, Spinach, Leek and a silky soft Poached Egg.

09.01.2022 Banana bread. Legitimising eating cake-like products for breakfast since who knows when. Served with cashew butter, slivered almonds and agave. New on the menu and sure to be a hit.

07.01.2022 Fridays at Dorsia. Ocean trout, yuzu ponzu, crisp apple, avocado and fresh wasabi. A playful yet mysterious little dish.

07.01.2022 Finally, some good news. Christopher Pearce, simultaneously one of the best photographer’s and humans we know, was forced to cancel his Food x Art project exhibition earlier this year due to COVID-19. We were thrilled to learn that Rising Sun Workshop in Newtown has enabled this amazing work to found its rightful place on public display. You can even find a few special feature from yours truly in the mix. If this doesn’t give you a Friday smile I’m not sure what will.

06.01.2022 As we push through these strange cold days, a hearty meal, shared or otherwise, can make everything just right. Squid ink linguini, prawns, cherry tomatoes, chilli and bottarga.

04.01.2022 An unexpected positive of the of turbulence and turmoil we have all experienced this year, is the chance to reflect on what is important. Thanks to @deepintheweedspodcast and @huckstergram for hosting our very own @k3n7y for an honest conversation about running a restaurant in 2020. A timely reminder to say thanks to all of our team and our community. The ride isn’t over yet, but the tracks look a little straighter.

03.01.2022 Soft poached salmon, fresh kale, cauliflower, ponzu and sesame dressing. A civilised way to return to civilised dining.

02.01.2022 Better late than never. Pleased to let you know that we are now taking orders via Menulog - while we are seeing green shoots of recovery in the ACT, there will be some challenging times still to come and we appreciate your support.
