21.01.2022 LES TAPP Association Teams Event Over the March long weekend 5 of our Juniors: Brock, Brenton, Fred, Jules and Windsor represented our Southern District Tennis Association (SDTA) at the Les Tapp Association Teams Event played at the Woodville Orion Tennis Club. Brocks team was the most successful winning second place in category Boys 14 & Under. They all had a great time and heaps of tennis practice by playing matches on hard court as well as lawn. Thank you boys for exemplary representation of our club. Thanks must go to all their parents who brought them everyday and provided the valuable audience. Thank you also to Lyn Hann who volunteered to be the Team Manager for one of the SDTA Teams and did an exemplary job looking after all the players.

18.01.2022 NEW COVID-SAFE PLAN from Tuesday 1-12-2020 in our club: All club tennis activities can resume again : Coaching (1-on-1, Squad, Hotshots, etc.) Club Training (Juniors - Thu 5-6pm, Seniors - Thu 6-8pm)... Social Tennis (Mon 7-9:30pm $6, Fri - 9-11am FREE FOR ALL) Competition (Fri - Junior Div1 6:30pm, Sat - Juniors 8:30am & 10:45am, Seniors - 1pm) The usual Tennis Hygiene and Social Distancing (1.5m) and 1 person/4sq m indoors & 1 person/2sq m outdoors must be maintained (see notices near gates). The club has to maintain Contact Tracing register. Upon arrival read the new COVID & QR Code Notices near the gates. Follow the instructions to download "mySA GOV" app onto your mobile. Then using the app and your camera you can do COVID Safe Check-In by scanning the QR Code unique to our club. Follow the prompts. Green tick is displayed on your mobile after successful registration. Please let our COVID Marshal know of your success. In case of difficulties with the procedure seek help from COVID Marshal. If you brought your family you can repeat the process for each member of the family.. If you don't have mobile then let Covid Marshal know your Contact Details. Members using the court After Hours must sign in by using the COVID Safe Check-In QR Code. Bring enough water since refills will only be given if Canteen is open as communal drinking is not allowed. Our Canteen will be open during Competitions on Friday night and Saturday whole day. Please note that all food consumed indoors must be consumed while seated, all food taken outdoors can be eaten standing. 17.01.2022 Update on Use of our Tennis Club Due to updates in directives from the Gov, Council, Sport SA and Tennis SA we are going to cancel the following programs: - Get Your Racquet On (Mon) - Tennis Cardio (Wed) - Club Training (Thu)... We will submit teams for Winter Comp from the enrollments we already have received so far. If you did not come to last weeks Club Training and planned to enroll this week, then please contact me (0435 061 539) with you or your childs details. Our club rooms will be closed from now on but our tennis courts still remain open for coaching only. Note that you will not be able to use the chairs or refill your drink bottle and you will not be permitted inside the club rooms. So make sure you bring enough water & your own chair with you. We ask everybody who comes to our club to maintain high level of hygiene and be mindful of social distancing. Hand washing is available in rest rooms. 13.01.2022 TennisSouth Academy getting our Club Juniors ready for Saturday Competition starting soon - Saturday 13th June 2020. Looking for Emergency Players to fill-in when needed If you missed the enrollment and your child would like to join please contact us to see if your child can be an emergency player, perhaps your child is playing other sports but free on some weekends? Being an Emergency Player is a good way to keep up your tennis skills. Tennis Lessons - Always available from TennisSouth. Best coach in the southern area. Social Tennis - If your childs tennis is Social standard then he/she can join our Social Tennis Groups on Monday or Tuesday from 7pm to 9pm, cost $6, provided they are accompanied by an adult unless agreed with the Club.

13.01.2022 ITEMS FOR SALE - Thanks to all those who came to our rescue and bought the old items for sale, they are all sold and the club made $75. Doesnt sound like much but it all adds up. Thanks particularly to Sandra for being the "go between" and also to Kevin and Jana for cleaning out the Store. The old shade is still available if anyone is interested?

13.01.2022 JUNIORS - FREE CLUB TRAINING There will be Junior Winter Competition this year. For any Juniors interested to compete we are starting FREE CLUB TRAINING on Thursday, 21st of May 2020, from 5:00pm to 6:15pm. This is a great opportunity to brush up on your tennis skills and prepare for competition in the company of your teammates. It is supervised by our experienced Head Club Coach - Jean van Rensburg. Children need to bring their own bottles of water. The Club Room has to stay closed. All the social distancing & hygiene guidelines will apply. We ask the parents to stay outside the club boundary fence, not under the pergola. Bring your own chair or watch your child from the comfort of your car overlooking the courts (see photo). Competition details will be announced when available.

It has also been announced that bronze and silver junior ranking tournaments will return in January 2021. Bad news: it is going to be too hot for tennis coaching tomorrow and Saturday

11.01.2022 New Update on Use of our Tennis Club re COVID 19 Due to further restrictions we have to postpone indefinitely our Social Tennis (Mon & Fri). Access to courts via padlock is also suspended. We are not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers and as such cant cope with administering all the hygiene guidelines and other restrictions put on us at the moment. Therefore our club activity has to cease until such time when these restrictions are eased or lifted. Use of the cour...ts is only allowed under the supervision of our Club Coach Jean van Rensburg who runs his own Tennis South coaching business and provides private coaching and Hotshots to our members and others. Please contact him at TennisSouth if you need further information. The club room remains closed. Bring your own chair & bottles of drink as you are not able to refill bottles from the club room. 09.01.2022 *** Postponement of AGM & Presentation Dinner *** Following the Tennis Australia Statement about Coronavirus we have decided to postpone our AGM & Presentation Dinner which was planned for Sunday, 5th April 2020. We will review this decision after April School Holidays. Please note that at this stage all our TENNIS PROGRAMS CONTINUE AS PER NORMAL. Tennis is not a contact sport and is played outside. However we will watch on daily basis for any direction from Tennis Australia/SA and SDTA and will let you know of any changes. We wish everyone to keep well. 05.01.2022 GREAT NEWS ANOTHER GRANT PUT TO GOOD USE Dear Members, the committee would like to announce that we now have a NEW HS1 Defibrillator (AED) and a NEW First Aid Kit installed at the club thanks to a COVID19 Wellbeing and Resilience Grant from the City of Onkaparinga with 50% of AED paid by our club. This means that we can now provide support in case of heart failure/fibrillation and the new First Aid kit replaces the old one and fully covers our needs. This gives us conf...idence to run our programs and competitions with the knowledge we can react to most medical situations that may occur on the courts until paramedics can arrive. Of course we hope the AED is never needed. We would like to thank the City of Onkaparinga for considering our club for this investment during COVID19. Morphett Vale Tennis Club finals matches for today have not been affected so far according to the postponed competition list sent out by Tennis SA this morning. We await any news from SDTA and will keep you updated on whether any of our matches or the upcoming winter competition will be impacted.

01.01.2022 Our player of the week is Neil who has been a pillar of strength at the no 1 position in our Boys Div 1 team and has already come out twice this season to help ...out. Neil lost only one match singles during the Winter season, a loss that he reversed in the finals and has been undefeated in the two matches he played so far in Summer.
