23.01.2022 The 2015 Flu Vaccine has been delayed due to changes in the vaccine composition. We have pre-ordered the vaccine and will receive it as soon as it is available. It is expected to be ready in April. The World Health Organization and the Australian Influenza Vaccine Committee have agreed that this years vaccine will contain three seasonal influenza strains, with two strain changes from the 2014 vaccine. The Australian 2015 vaccine will contain the following: A (H1N1): an A/Ca...lifornia/7/2009 (H1N1) - like virus A (H3N2): an A/Switzerland/9715293/2013 (H3N2) - like virus B: a B/Phuket/3073/2013 - like virus If you would like us to give you the flu vaccine when its available, please email [email protected] or ring us on 02 8765 8891 to be on our list.

23.01.2022 The 2019 Government Funded Flu Shot is now available for at-risk groups. For those not eligible for the free shot, we have the private flu shot in stock for $15. We also have the Government Funded Measles Mumps Rubella (MMR) shot for those that need a booster. Please book in with one of our doctors or our nurse Gabby. 20.01.2022 Today concludes the Tuesday talks at Concord Library with Dr Jeremy. Just a reminder that due to upcoming school holidays, next Thursdays session on June 26th will incorporate two talks - common skin rashes and allergies.

20.01.2022 Wear a mask: Under current NSW Health guidance, patients will need to wear a mask to enter our practice from Monday 3rd August. The practice manager has introduced this policy to protect patients and staff. If you do not wish to wear a mask, we still provide phone consultations for existing patients. Previous COVID rules still apply to the practice: - one person per consultation onsite. - appointments only

17.01.2022 Today is World Ovarian Cancer Awareness Day. In 2010, ovarian cancer was the second most commonly diagnosed gynaecological cancer in Australia, with 1,305 new cases of ovarian cancer in women. While difficult to detect as many women will have similar symptoms from time to time, reported symptoms include pelvic pain, abdominal bloating, urinating frequently, and feeling full after eating small amounts. If you have any concerns, it is important to speak to your doctor.

15.01.2022 New Restrictions: the practice is taking steps to make it safer for our patients and staff. (1) Only one patient/visitor will be allowed onsite at a time. Appointments with other doctors at the same time will be done via phone consultation. (2) Patients to wait outside ... (3) Only one patient in a consultation room at a time (or 1 child and 1 parent/carer) (4) Book online or ring to make appointments. Please do not show up in person to book appointments. (5) New patients or patients who have not visited the practice face-to-face in the past 12 months are subjected to new telehealth restrictions. Please call reception on 8765 8891 to discuss.

14.01.2022 Is your toddler fussy at meal times? Dr Jeremy will be giving a short Fussy Toddlers talk tomorrow (Tuesday 3rd June) at the Canada Bay Library - 11:00am. He will also briefly stay around after the talk if you have any questions.

14.01.2022 Update: The practice is a bulk-billing practice Monday to Saturday. Hi Everyone, in addition to our new COVID-19 measures, we have also kicked off our flu vaccinations for over 65s. The list is long so if we havent contacted you, please be patient. Existing patients are welcome to call us to check if you are on our recall list. We will attempt to recall other groups shortly. We have been given approval to administer flu vaccines while you sit in your car. This is a change f...rom the usual process but it has been put in place to protect patients and to adhere to social distancing rules. The City of Canada Bay council has been amazing and they have kindly closed a section in front of the practice to facilitate car vaccinations. This will provide safety for our doctors and ensure that you have a car park spot. Please drive into the laneway at your scheduled appointment time. @thebowtiedoctor
