25.01.2022 Hi everyone, Sometimes our children can throw us some curly questions at the best of times. Here's some suggestions for how to approach talking with our children about COVID-19 from Dr Justin Coulson. https://m.facebook.com/story.php
25.01.2022 Thank you to these gorgeous models for show casing our new excursion vests! The children will be wearing these on any outing for easier supervision and improved safety measures!

23.01.2022 On Friday, the Kinder children used our new hi-vis vests for the first time on a walk to the park. They enjoyed the shade of the big trees, kicking soccer balls, and exploring nature.
21.01.2022 I never like announcing news like this, but Mrs. Mardi has made the decision to pursue her calling of an inclusion support educator with children with additional needs. Her final official day is today. For someone that needs certainty, it is a brave leap of faith, and we wish you nothing but the best. Your next employers gain is truly our loss. Much love from your Mosaic family.... Oh - and Happy Birthday for Tuesday (: See more

19.01.2022 A good reminder, particularly with everything going on at the moment. Also true for adults, we need to fill our cups as well.
19.01.2022 Just because we need to physically distance ourselves, doesn't mean we can't say hi (from the appropriate physical distance)! Saying hi might brighten someone's day today
18.01.2022 In these uncertain times, there are ways that we can help and support each other. In the entrance at Mosaic, we've placed these postcards that you can take, fill in and give to your neighbours. Let's look for ways that we can help those around us who may be struggling. Let's look out for each other and support each other.
18.01.2022 Mat time isn't always just books and songs. Last week the Kinders and Piccolos were treated to a puppet show each day, where they discussed being gentle with their peers and what that actually looks like.
17.01.2022 And then there were four! Mrs Lisa and Mrs Jess- twinning with their first born boys and baby girls. Love it when our educators return for a visit!
17.01.2022 Last week, some of our staff participated in a CPR refresher course. Although we hope to never be in a situation where we need to use this skill, this refresher course is something we do annually to ensure we can always provide the correct first aid, should an emergency situation occur.
16.01.2022 A heartfelt card and present from one of our lovely familys, that, after over four years and two children, are moving on to 'big school' next year. The goodbyes never get easier but as our Philosophy says in part" '.....with the knowledge that the early years of a child's life are a foundation for their future success, it is our desire that the children who leave Mosaic will be able to embrace the rest of their life journey with self confidence, understanding and respect for all who they will encounter.
15.01.2022 Today is Harmony Day! - also the United Nations Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. It is an important day because it gives Australians an opportunity to celebrate our successes as a culturally diverse society. Orange is the official Harmony Day colour and many people wear orange clothes or ribbons. We have so many cultures and religions to celebrate at Mosaic- our educators made and bought some food that was symbolic of their culture and shared it during the day.
15.01.2022 We are really happy to announce our partnership with the Concorde Aged Care Home in South Perth. As part of the quality areas on the National Quality Standard, we need to have a Community engagement, where the centre and the children will build a relationship and engage with the community. So this partnership was born not only to follow the NQS, but also to help the children interact in relation to others with care, empathy and respect, and also to become strong in their soci...al and emotional wellbeing. We have had two interactions already, last year we went to the aged care facilitiy for our first visit, and the children and the residents really enjoyed the interaction and activities. We got great feedback from the families from Mosaic too. On the 28th of January it was our turn to welcome three residents from the Concorde Aged Care Home here at Mosaic, and what a joy it was. We could get more children to enjoy the interaction and the visitors seemed really happy and with energy to play with the children. We are really excited for the next chapter in building a positive relationship with with our community and the older generation. See more
14.01.2022 What some of our beautiful, fun educators get up to after hours.... Miss Ellen found a Mosaic food truck at Scarborough markets - they just had to go and get a group selfie (:
14.01.2022 It is with a mix of sadness and gratitude that we announce the resignation of our founding Director, Rose. We are so very thankful to Rose for her dedication, motivation and calm leadership that she has provided to Mosaic over the past six years. We look forward to hearing of her new directions and are hopeful and excited for the next chapter of our journey at Mosaic. Excerpt from Rose's resignation letter ... After many months of thought and reflection both personally and professionally, it has come to the time that I hand in my resignation as Director of Mosaic Early Learning Centre. My Mosaic journey has been so rewarding on so many levels and I have received so much more than I have given in all areas of the business, as well as forging strong bonds with educators, children and families and it is a part of my life that I will always look back on fondly and miss very much. I wish you all the best for the future development of Mosaic, and thank you for giving me the opportunity to be the founding Director of such an amazing place. Yours sincerely, Rose Byron. Commencing immediately, we will be conducting a search to find the person who will take over and build on the foundations that Rose has laid so well. A high bar indeed! During this transition period, it is our priority to find the individual we believe is to lead the ELCs next chapter, while still maintaining the excellent learning community that our wonderful staff provide.
13.01.2022 Today we picked some lemons from our very own lemon tree! We then took them out to our share table so everyone can enjoy

11.01.2022 Hi everyone, We've been busy creating a fun activity sheet to do together as a family! Some ideas for how to do it: Interview each other; highlight one person each night at dinner time and ask them the questions; children can ring their grandparents/aunties/uncles/neighbours/friends and ask them; children (or adults) can colour in the sheet. We'd love to see how you go, feel free to post photos below!
11.01.2022 On Friday, the Bambini children took advantage of the beautiful weather and went for a little excursion down by the river. They enjoyed chasing the birds, watching the ducks and collecting leaves and sticks to bring back to the centre for their 'season inspired' art activities.

07.01.2022 ... and so the much anticipated kitchen renovation begins.... YAY!
06.01.2022 Hi everyone, Here's another activity sheet we've been busy creating to do together as a family! Some ideas for how to do it: Consider talking together about what you know about each family member as you write their names. Some ideas might be, favourite colours, football team, favourite food, where they went to school, where they were born, a favourite memory or activity to do with that person.... Get creative! Get some texters, pencils, or paints out and draw and colour away. Or you could get photos of family members to stick to your family tree. If you'd like a PDF version, please send us a message and we'll happily send one through for you
06.01.2022 Here's a great little video to encourage good hand washing and hygiene habits for the whole family, sing along with the new words to an old favourite https://youtu.be/L89nN03pBzI
05.01.2022 This week we celebrated 'Early Childhood Educators Day'. This is a chance to recognise and celebrates the work of Australia's educators in early learning services for their wonderful contribution to the wellbeing and healthy development of the young children in their care. So SHOUT OUT to all our Mosaic Educators for all their hard work and commitment. Thank you to our Mosaic families for your kind words of appreciation, and a HUGE thank you to the Naysmith family for buying and getting lunch delivered for us today.
05.01.2022 A quick shout our to our cook Miss Lilly, undoubtedly the most professional, hard working cook in history! She has been a trooper during our kitchen renovations and has rolled with the changes and always is happy to help. Thanks Lilly, not sure where you have been all of our lives, but glad you are a part of the family now. (:
