21.01.2022 A massive thank you to Woolworths in Forest Lake shopping centre, Thornlie. Our team experienced a problem with the pin on our card for our local Supported Independent Living home. The incredible Manager waved the fee as his Christmas gift to the people with disability we support. Thank you so much.

28.11.2021 Today is International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD). The theme for 2021 is "Leadership and participation of persons with disabilities toward an inclusive, accessible and sustainable post-COVID-19 world." COVID has been challenging for many of us, particularly people with disability. Mosaic's Therapy Services and PBS teams supported people with disability to live post-COVID. Some ways included teaching the importance of social distancing, and upholding human rights i...n relation to receiving the vaccine. 06.09.2021 Today is World Occupational Therapy Day and it's National OT Week this year's theme of participation, inclusion and independence celebrates the role OTs play in supporting people of all abilities to engage in activities they find meaningful. One way that participation can be impacted is by people who experience challenges responding to sensory information. Some people avoid certain sensations, others may seek out sensory experiences. We all have different sensory prefer...ences. People with disability may experience challenges managing their sensory experiences because of their disability or we could say, because of the environment. For example, the Perth Royal Show for some people it’s a dream exciting rides, lots of people, music. For others, it’s a nightmare! Maybe you’re "one of those people who remove clothing tags or privately wear your underwear inside out? No need to share! At Mosaic we are celebrating OT Week by staff completing a survey on allied health, and the prize - the opportunity to complete their own Sensory Profile! Happy OT Week to all the wonderful OTs out there and the people who have benefited from their service. Wonder what sensory preferences these two have?
