12.01.2022 Reposted from @ifawaustralia More than 50 hectares of koala habitat in Port Stephens is set to be cleared after the federal environment minister, @sussanleymp, approved the expansion of the Brandy Hill quarry. Our report earlier this year showed that an estimated 6,382 koalas perished during the last bushfires in NSW. This is nearly 15% of the population. Shockingly, 62% of the population has been lost over the past three generations. This decision by Ms Ley signals more bad ...news for NSW koalas and strengthens our resolve to urge the government to up-list koalas from Vulnerable to Endangered status. We need your support to protect this iconic species; we cannot let them become extinct on our watch. Click the link over at ifaw to sign the petition today!

11.01.2022 Remember our rescued koala that had his head run over and needed CitiPower and Powercor Australia and local police to get him down out of the tree over a busy road? 04.01.2022 Sad news - Mosswood farewells one of our most popular and photographed/videoed koalas, Polly Polly had been unwell for sometime blood tests gave no answers. Her behaviour has often been misinterpreted as cuddly and looking for human companionship. This is incorrect. It portrays a wild animal that will never be releasable She see sawed between being bright and happy, to being depressed and needy, often excessively drinking water The decision was made to send our beloved Poll...y to a place where she no longer suffers She will be missed RIP Polly See more

01.01.2022 Our little orphan is doing well, he's outside today climbing and learning coordination He has been named Seanchai, which is an Irish word for "story teller" Pronounced shan-a-key

01.01.2022 This is Jube She was found on the ground, by some workers near a place called Jubilee Park One of Mosswoods foster carers went out to try and reunite Jube with her mum, who was high up in the tree above Jube Jube called out to her mum, but her mum wouldn't come down to collect her, Jube at 342gms was way to small to climb and at this weight, still should be in mum's pouch (hold out your hand, Jube would fit in your palm) Foster carer Val took Jube home to warm her up as she... was very cold. The next day Jube was taken back to try again to reunite, but Jubes mum had gone Jube has done well in care, but a few times was found with one of the kangaroo joeys in their pouch, naughty Jube (this can be stressful to the kangaroo and is not encouraged) Jube has 3 koala joey friends and now spends her time with them, getting bigger, stronger and learning to be a koala She is now over 1.2kgs See more
