21.01.2022 Triple Zero (000) callers will now be able to easily tell operators their location during an emergency. The Emergency+ app was relaunched today with what3words... functionality. This will allow callers to Triple Zero (000) to use three key words to help communicate their location in areas or situations where this may be difficult. South Australia Police are already using what3words to assist members of the public. On 6 October police received a call from campers who had been bogged in the Chadinga Conservation Park near Ceduna, a 118.5km2 area. By using what3words, police were able to locate and assist the campers by sending a mechanic to them. The Emergency+ app is free and available on iOS and Android devices through the Google Play and Apple stores.
