23.01.2022 We would like to say a massive thank you to Fiona, Teresa and the Mount Isa Royal Flying Doctor Service for gifting us an Humidicrib. It was amazing timing, as within minutes a mum in urgent need of surgery to deliver her remaining pups arrived. The puppies were able to be kept comfortable at a perfect temperature, whist waiting for their mum to recover from her surgery. Fiona and Teresa were rewarded cuddles with the brand new 'fur' babies.

18.01.2022 Happy Vet Nurse Day! Pictured: Teal, Charlotte, Morgan, Nugget (our clinic companion) and Jasmin. Lily is absent.

16.01.2022 ** A foster mum has been found, thank you Richelle! We have recently acquired two beautiful kittens! However, they are only about 2 weeks old and are in need of a mum! If anyone knows of a female cat currently nursing kittens and would like to help out, please give us a call!

13.01.2022 MEET THE TEAM Nugget joined the team six months ago, as MIVS's staff liason officer. His other qualifications include moral support giver, food quality assurance expert (specialising in liver treats and pigs ears) and security. He was put on light duties initially as he was recovering from a neurological condition, which left him almost completely paralysed. He enjoys zoomies in the front yard, and meeting furry friends. Thank you Carly Leask for making his uniform, he looks very smart.

12.01.2022 It was so lovely to see Dotti & Kaia being happy little bouncy puppies for their final vaccinations. They both were hospitalised for Parvovirus, little Dotti being particularly unwell. How adorable are they......

07.01.2022 DEADLY SAGO PALMS! Did you know that the popular ornamental plant the Sago Palm is extremely toxic to cats & dogs? All parts of the plant are toxic if ingested and as little as one or two seeds could be a potentially fatal dose for your dog. Dogs that have eaten the plant typically become very quiet and unwell, can have vomiting and drooling and go off their food; liver failure quickly follows. If you suspect your dog has eaten Sago Palm, please contact a vet ASAP; un...fortunately, the mortality rate for dogs that have eaten this plant is estimated to be as high as 50-75%. We recently had the pleasure of treating Zeus and Manaia, two beautiful dogs who were very unwell following suspected Sago Palm ingestion. Luckily, after a lengthy hospital stay these two defied the odds to both make a full recovery and are much happier now!

06.01.2022 I am lost! If one of these kitty’s belong to you, please contact Mount Isa Vet Surgery 4743 2955!
