20.01.2022 We need your help! We want to connect these donated objects with family members. What happened to the Dimmick children of Mt Morgan, Queensland after WW1? Leona...rd Dimmick (1880-1916) of Mt Morgan, Queensland was a widowed father of three when he enlisted in August 1914, joining the Light Horse. He died of illness in hospital in Egypt in 1916. His children were aged four to 10 when their father died. Dimmick sent his family curios he found in Egypt, and in 1932 his father donated them to the Queensland Museum. The war didnt only affect those who fought; it also impacted on their families. What became of the Dimmick children? Help us with the search. Share this post, or get in touch [email protected]

12.01.2022 This information was posted by Brian Webber on Queensland Railways - Days Gone By site - "The Paw Paws [1170 class] DELs did much good work in the north over ma...ny years. After withdrawal 1172 went to Mount Morgan, then to Bell and is now at Drayton with Downs Steam. There is a chance it could again get to run on QR tracks. In this scene at Mount Morgan it is coupled to railcar 2014. Brian Webber photo." See more
