10.01.2022 PLAY READING coming up at BMEC on Wednesday, December 6th at 6.30pm. Local Stages is hosting a reading of two very different Murder Mystery plays, to be produced by Mountain Murder Mysteries and Bathurst Theatre Company in 2018. These plays will be performed as restaurant theatre around Bathurst, the Blue Mountains and the Central West. ... If you are an actor who can improvise with the audience, play as well as perform and work the room, then come and read these fun plays. We are looking for female and male actors who enjoy working collaboratively in a small group, are happy to interact with the audience, and relish performing big, sometimes outlandish characters. The plays are: The gangster-themed, Love on a Razor’s Edge, set in Sydney during the time of the notorious razor gangs of Tilly Devine and Kate Leigh in the late 1920s and early 30s; and Lair of the Werewolf, which involves a film director and his cast rehearsing the making of a silent movie in the early 1920s and combines high drama with light-hearted comedy.
