21.01.2022 Clontarf Graduating Senior Boys Trip From the 22nd-29th November, 5 of our graduating Year 12 Clontarf boys went to Newcastle for our graduation trip. It was a jam packed week of activities including paintball, surfing, paddle boarding, go carts and shopping. ... The cherry on top to finish the trip was climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The boys were exhausted by the end but it was well deserved for all the great years in Clontarf and for completing Year 12. Congratulations Boys
20.01.2022 CLONTARF Officeworks visit Last week a group of Clontarf boys intersted in gaining part time employment got a work site tour from Officeworks manager Shane O'Brien. Throughout the tour the boys were shown how to use the printers, registers and how the back dock delivery system works. Shane also explained the job application process and what they look for in employees. ... A big thank you to Shane for taking the time to give the boys a insight into Officeworks and we look forward to continuing our relationship in the future.
20.01.2022 This week, a group of eager students participated in a two day course on Financial Literacy. A Smith Family funded initiative, the program teaches young people about finances, including budgeting, saving goals, dangers of credit cards, debt and taxes. At the end of the course, successful graduates received a Certificate 1 in Financial Literacy. Many thanks to our wonderful facilitator Sharlene.

19.01.2022 Mount Austin High School Barber Shop This week students continued to gain amazing industry skills, customer service, self care and build relationships with peers and JL our amazing barber/mentor. The barbershop operates every Monday- students can book appointments through the week in administration.

These guys really are superstars We thank parents, carers, grandparents, siblings and extended families for the support you’ve given our graduates. ... We thank the staff of MAHS for working tirelessly to get 41 students over that line. And we thank all 41 of our graduates for pushing themselves beyond anyone’s expectations to get to this point in their lives.

17.01.2022 Birthday's are always fun! 9/10 Drama celebrated by having a Birthday Party through the week. We played pass the parcel, pin the tail on the donkey, had a pinata and a photo booth! ... A fun time complete with Ms Parkin singing Happy Birthday.

16.01.2022 MAHS Clontarf The last two weeks of term a group Clontarf boys have been visiting the Wagga Environmental Centre learning about culture and immersing themselves in the bush. We have been lucky to have Geoff Simpson run some fantastic activities with our boys that involved fire lighting, artifact making and learning about the core cultural values of respect, patience, humility, trust and ego. ... Our boys have taken heaps out of these sessions and we are looking forward to continuing the relationship throughout Term 4.
16.01.2022 Sport at Mount Austin High School include a range of activities including Tech Media Team, Drama games, Volleyball, Bike riding, Lego Club, Giant Board Games and many more... LEGO Club operates as a lunch time activity and a sport elective for students. Lego activities provides an opportunity for students to explore creativity , build team work, focus, social and have fun. Each week we will run a different challenge. AT Sport Lego there is a participant challenge. This week's challenge included making a vegetable or a piece of fruit. Students did an amazing job! The teacher's were pretty clever too! Keep an eye out for what we make in the coming weeks. Lego Club as a Lunch activity also operates Wednesday Week B in G2.
15.01.2022 Today SRC & G@TC students planted trees and shrubs for National Tree Planting Day in the front gardens of the school. Great teamwork was displayed by all students and G@TC staff Sarah and Rose. We look forward to watching the plants grow.

Today at 11:30am, successful participants received Graduation Certificates and enjoyed celebrating with their family, friends and local Police. Well done and all the best for continuing to make positive choices for your futures.
12.01.2022 PCYC participants finished their work out last week with a visit to the Thread Together van. Thread Together is an Australian organisation whose mission is to source new and excess items from fashion retailers to redistribute to community. This means a reduction in landfill and negative environmental impacts. ... PCYC participants came home with a great haul including shoes, work out gear, while learning the importance of the environment and environmental sustainability.
11.01.2022 Mount Austin High School’s annual Teachers vs College 2 Dodgeball event occurred at lunch today. College 2 proved better at duck, dive, dodge than their opponents. Congratulations College 2 on your victory.

09.01.2022 Mount Austin High School Hair Salon The Hair salon opened today. Hairdressers learnt about COVID safety, equipment safety and communication skills. ... They had a terrific time working on the mannequins and practising curling, braiding and straightening techniques. Stef, the trainer/mentor, was very encouraging and supportive and already building confidence in the students. It was a joy to be in the salon today.

08.01.2022 Parents/carers of Year 10 students Mr Tullberg and Ms Huntly need your help! Medicare card details are required to apply for a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number for students in Year 10. Please allow your child to take a photo of a photo of the card with their name on it. ... if your child doesn’t have a phone, please allow your child to bring the card with their name on it to school and we will photocopy it. if you have already provided Medicare details, you don’t have to do this again. Students will have this USI number for the rest of their lives and will be used when undertaking VET subjects and any courses run at school.

Our end of school celebrations for College 2 focus on recognising and celebrating the wonderful students who have contributed to our school and community , the relationships they have developed across their peers and staff and the exciting new paths they will begin.

05.01.2022 Mount Austin High School Wellbeing Day has been postponed on the advice of Murrumbidgee Local Health District who have issued an extreme heat alert for next Tuesday 1 December. Temperatures are expected to reach 42 degrees and advice has been given to remain indoors during the day. Classes will operate as usual, Tuesday Week A on your timetable.... Tuesday is MAHS sports afternoon, many of the sports will move indoors, and complete alternative activities to support students wellbeing in the heat.

01.01.2022 Media Team - A Sport Choice? Students from years 7-10 who are interested in media, film technology and podcasting have selected Media team as a sport/special interest. The students will be responsible for producing the Melting Pot, writing and editing content, and covering school events on and offsite.... Students will be encouraged to develop a range of employability skills as part of the program including, team work, communication skills, problem solving and decision making. Students will develop relationships with staff and students across the school as they plan, organise and produce documents for a range of media. The school has invested in a range of specialist equipment such as a video camera, tripods, a mixing desk and allocated a school space to support the learning of students. Staff are encouraging students to be creative and develop their own initiatives using the equipment and green screens in the Media room.
