18.01.2022 Hi the other administrator of our web page told me a lady named Pam Cummings is trying to contact me about some photo albums. You can contact me on [email protected] or my phone 8807-0169 look forward to hearing from you.

17.01.2022 Recently it was brought to my attention that while on a tour of areas around Blacktown those on the tour were told that none of the cellars remain on the site of Minchinbury. I do have photos of what is still in place on the site as I spent many hours with the developers and was taken to a number of sections of the property. If you would like to vie w them please let me know and I will add a couple.

16.01.2022 Members of the society took photos of the barn quite a while back we are hoping someone might be able to tell us how long it has been standing in Church Lane and if it is still there due to the new development. Thank you.

15.01.2022 Hi everyone you might be suprised that a member of our society Judy Trembath has been working with me on locating the cemetery at Mount Druitt well we now know that it was originally Major George Druitt's Cemetery on his property we have the boundaries and many are convict burials. Recently we have documents located on the Esperson family and on her death notice Sarah's newspaper article quotes buried Mount Druitt Cemetery just need to get a certiificate. Thanks must go to Colyton Public School for giving me a very old map which shows where the cemetery is then Judy located a articles dated 1950 that gives information on a number of things in our area.

13.01.2022 Hi Rob Kennedy sorry I don't think we do but I will ask our members at our meeting next week as some are descendants of early families. I will let you know.

11.01.2022 The Committee and members of the society hope that you all remain safe and do not catch this awful virus so many around the world have been lost and sick our hearts go out to all of these families may god be with us all and we will get through this terrible time.

08.01.2022 In the next day or two I am going to tidy our page hope those that have supported us will stay with us. Thanks to those who live or did live in Mount Druitt who also have donated family history and stories for my publication "They Left Their Mark Vol 4". On discussing the originally suggested name with one of my transcribers of documents we decided to keep the publications "They Left Their Mark" going. Thank you all so much to-date this volumes pages have doubled the previous three.

08.01.2022 Hi again my other research has covered convicts that were assigned to The Rooty Hill Establishment the land was granted in 1802 by Governor King and the boundaries at that time covered most of the area as we know Blacktown today. I have found this one of the most interesting projects I have worked on I have researched over 225 convicts the sources for these men and women are most interesting. If they were not assigned to the Government Depot but to an early settler then I possibly have covered these convicts as well. Again if you wish to check if I have sourced your convict then his or her name and an email address is all I need and I am most happy to share what I have. We are based at The Manse at Mount Druitt village in the Avenue check our open hours as you may wish to visit and have a chat..

06.01.2022 This is a photo of The Native Institute School on the corner of Rooty Hill Road North and Richmond Road. I have also added a little snippet of information on the second owner of the property who changed the name to Epping Forest. His name was Lieut William Bell he was in the NSW Corps after nine years of trying to locate more on him I only have a couple of letters he wrote.

06.01.2022 Another interesting letter but sorry do not know who sent it to me!!

05.01.2022 Good evening I am finally able to tell you about two types of research I have been working on for our archives. The first is a list of 112 families that settled in the Mount Druitt Districts, the documentation varies but most have certificates,Wills & Probates. land documents and Colonial secretary's Papers and of course photos. Many in the districts have assisted with family histories and copies of their documents. i will be adding families to these files if you would like to find out if your family have been researched let me know the name of the family and supply an email address and it I have documents etc I can email them to you. Thank you Hazel.

03.01.2022 Hi everyone I am hoping I can have some answers to this question. I am researching a burial ground that was situated on Mount Druitt Rd, Ropes Creek Rd, Norfolk Street and Durham Street. I have a map that actually marks the area and a few of the members of our society and friends of the society have told me they remember the burial plots as they would wander to to play among the graves. Does anyone have any further information there one possibility it was on Major George Druitt's property. I am going to hopefully go next week and go through the "Cemetery Dedication Records", keep an eye on our page as if I locate something I will share it.
