17.01.2022 Year 1 and 2 Swimming Lessons Hi everyone, Sorry for this very late news, and you all probably know already, but Year 1 and 2 swimming lessons went ahead today.

14.01.2022 Access to student reports have been sent out this afternoon. Please check your emails for this.

12.01.2022 COVID Update 2nd May Good evening everyone. As you are all aware there have been additional COVID cases which has lead to changes in restrictions. At this point these are:... 1. Masks must continue to be worn, as was expected last week. 2. Parents are permitted onsite but must maintain social distancing and avoid congregating. For us this means maintaining our current 'drop off' and 'pick up' processes and limiting the number of adults in classrooms. We will be postponing parent helpers in classrooms for the moment. We will postpone or utilise technology for any non urgent face to face meetings. We will postpone busy bees which involve people not on staff. 3. Maintain a high standard of hygiene practices. The impact on us, at this point in time: - uncertainty around whether swimming lessons are going ahead tomorrow for our years 1 and 2s. We will assume that these will go ahead but be prepared that they may not. We will confirm this ASAP. - the Board meeting scheduled for tomorrow evening is being postponed until next Monday. - uncertainty about how the Mothers' Day stall will proceed if things stay as they are. I will provide more information as I receive it. Kindest regards. Gary

12.01.2022 Amazing night for our Year 6 student's 'Around the World' Dinner Dance

11.01.2022 SCHOOL BOARD ELECTIONS Hi everyone. As some of you may recall, at the School Board was reviewing its size, composition and Terms of Reference in order to improve its effectiveness in supporting the school. To assist with this vacancies that arose at the end of last year were filled for a six month period. Since that time the Board has reviewed and updated its Terms of Reference and made a decision to reduce the size of the Board from fifteen members to ten. As a result we hav...e five parent representative positions that end at the end of this term. These people are: Genevieve Caddy; Diane Ledger; Aaron Goodwin, Michelle Watt and Michael Andrewartha. Having worked with these people I am really appreciative of their commitment to the school and for the opinions and insights they bring to our decision making. On behalf of the community I thank them for their service. With a reduction to the size of the Board, and moving forward we now have two vacancies to fill from the start of Term 3. Each of these vacancies is for a tenure of 3 years and I now call for parent/carer nominations. For those of you interested in nominating, please see Connect for nomination form, the Board’s current Terms of Reference and a Public School Councils and Board Information package. Hard copies are also available from our office. If you require further information, please contact me on 9316 1045. Completed nomination forms are to be marked to the attention of Gary Crocetta and emailed to [email protected] by 4:00 pm on Friday, 11th June 2021. See more

11.01.2022 Perfect day for our Year 6 students to cool off at Outback Slash!

09.01.2022 MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL Welcome back everyone for what continues to be an interesting year for us all. Welcome to the new families who have joined us from places as far away as Singapore and Indonesia. I begin with some acknowledgments. Thank you to the 128 parents and carers who were able to complete the recent online school survey. I think this may have been the biggest response rate we have received in a while and though I can’t assume with certainty the number of par...ents or carers from each household who actually completed the survey, considering we have 363 families this could represent between 20% to 30% of our school community. During this term I will be sharing the information we received and, in conjunction with the School Board and staff, will be analysing the feedback provided and using this analysis to inform aspects of our next Business Plan. Thank you to all our families, and in particularly the parents and carers of our year 6 students. With the COVID restrictions that were imposed and the subsequent changes we implemented, which included the postponement of the year 6 camp, I am overwhelmed by the degree of support and understanding our community has demonstrated. It reinforced for me once again, how we are united in being able to keep things in perspective to ensure the safety and well-being of all. Thanks also to the year 6s in Room 17 for running a moving ANZAC commemoration assembly on Tuesday. The family connections shared by the students was something that I believe added a personal and more real meaning to the occasion. On a totally different note, there are some updates I would like to share. Jen Hogan, Deputy Principal, will be taking some much well deserved long service leave from the 24th of May through to the beginning of next term. I am pleased to announce that Pippa Dennerley has been selected to fill the Deputy Principal position for this time. This means that we will be employing a new teacher for room 17. Currently we are working through a process to select the best teacher we can to undertake this role. Our new classrooms (transportables), rooms 21 and 22 are almost ready to use. The practical completion inspection is on Monday, 3rd May and our plans are to have Mrs Lowe’s and Miss Seddons’s classes into their new rooms by the end of next week. Have a great weekend everyone and keep safe. Gary Crocetta

07.01.2022 Year 6 Camp and Year 1 and 2 Swimming Lessons Update Pending any further COVID inspired disruptions, we are pleased to confirm that: - our Year 6 Bridgetown Camp will now take place from Monday, 17th May until Thursday 20th May.... - year 1 and 2 students will participate in a 5 day swimming lesson program which commences next Monday, 3rd May. 07.01.2022 Staff Update I am pleased to welcome Ms Christine Simms to our school. Christine will be teaching the year 6 students in Room 17 for the remaining six weeks of this term while Mrs Dennerley takes up the Deputy Principal role. Christine is an experienced educator having worked across both public and independent schools in Perth as well as at an international school in Hong Kong. I am looking forward to her joining our staff.... I also take this opportunity to wish Mrs Hogan a happy and relaxing break as she takes Long Service Leave for the remainder of this term. Have a great day everyone. Gary

06.01.2022 Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a safe holiday. Happy New Year See you all in 2021

06.01.2022 Along with most schools around the country, our school has been asked to participate in the fifth Australian Early Development Census the #AEDC2021. Every school with children in their first year of full-time school has a vital role to play in helping our nation collect the information it needs to support our children and their families as we recover from the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic: www.aedc.gov.au/schools/school-stories
