23.01.2022 Banded glute bridges A straight forward exercise that requires minimal (or no!) equipment and can be used as a staple in your glute program or as an activation exercise. place band around legs just above your knees... lie on your back with your knees bent and feet hip width apart, palms face up to the ceiling slowly lift your hips off the ground and curl up until your knees, hips and shoulders form a straight line pause at the top for 3 seconds, squeezing your glutes and then slowly return to the start position if you feel tension in your back, bring your feet closer towards your buttocks. Don’t forget to ask our team if you are wanting some home exercises or need help with your program!

22.01.2022 Study: new research has found that women who start exercising after a Breast Cancer diagnosis HALVE their risk of dying compared to those who remain inactive So what does exercise do for cancer patients? We understand that everyone is different and will have a unique and personalised treatment plan for their cancer - but there are some general guidelines for exercise pre, post and during treatment: 1. To be as physically active as possible, and starting at your curr...ent functional level 2. Use exercise for physical and mental health benefits by exercising outdoors or in a group 3. Exercise is not one size fits all - we can individualise your entire program Our Breast Cancer Specialist, Millie, is passionate about supporting women through their treatments #WomensHealthWeek2020

12.01.2022 WHAT IS AN EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST? This is the most asked question we get. In short, we are allied health professionals who prescribe exercise for the treatment and management of chronic diseases and injuries. We are university qualified and use evidence based practice to inform our treatment which can be claimed through a range of funding schemes. More on EP’s on our blog at https://www.moveep.com.au//what-is-an-exercise-physiologi/ The second most asked question... we get is how are we different from physiotherapists and personal trainers. We all have a role to play in health and exercise, but our differences may mean one professional is more suited for your situation than another! PHYSIOTHERAPISTS also are university qualified allied health professionals whose services you can claim also use exercise prescription for the management of injuries treat acute and sub-acute injuries with hand-on treatment use assessment and investigations to diagnose and manage PERSONAL TRAINERS also prescribe exercise and run fitness programs most suited for low risk and healthy populations qualified through fitness certificates and cannot claim with most funding schemes This is just a brief list of our similarities and differences. To find out if an exercise physiologist is what you need, contact us to learn more
