24.01.2022 MEG HESTER **** Favourite food? Good sourdough bread Favourite Hobbies? Rowing and hiking Why Osteo? Osteopaths have always taken good care of my family; I trusted the hands-on care we received and the holistic approach to looking at the body. I’m a people-person, fascinated by the human body but also love the problem solving aspect of the job. ... Meg's experience in elite fitness and performance particularly in the rowing field, she loves the challenge of piecing together the puzzle of your body and treating the cause of your dysfunction. 23.01.2022 I know it’s hard wearing a mask! I agree that it’s a little uncomfortable because we aren’t used to having something in front of our mouths and noses. But, Please do not use the reason that you do not like wearing them because it reduces your oxygen intake or restricts your breathing. It doesn’t! If you don’t believe me, Dr Jonathan will show you. ... Exercise 101: Try getting used to them by wearing them around the house. Start with 5mins at a time and build up. If you shop at the supermarket for 30mins, build up the time tolerance to 30mins. You’ll find that it’s not as bad as it seems! Dr Sonia (Osteopath)

14.01.2022 We are excited to annouce Dr John Hickey (Osteopath)!!!! He will be working at Move Wise Osteopathy on Wednesdays and Saturdays. We are so happy that Dr John is on board to help the team with his experience working as an osteopath!! *****... John has graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Clinical Science) and Master of Osteopathy at Victoria University. John's passion for Osteopathy began at an early age after seeing an osteopath for a sporting injury he sustained as a kid. John enjoys treating a variety of different conditions from a diverse demographic with an interest in chronic pain, headaches, migraines and sports injuries. John grew up having participated in track and field athletics, footy, rugby, karate, tennis and many other activities. As a result, he has seen his fair share of injuries and enjoys working closely with his patients to aid them in their return to activity. John is passionate about helping people achieve their goals, with an emphasis on patient education and rehabilitation which compliment his hands-on techniques in the treatment room including: joint manipulation, soft tissue massage and indirect techniques. John has further training in Dry Needling and Myofascial Cupping which he likes to use to compliment his treatments where necessary. 09.01.2022 Step 2 and Easing of Restrictions at Move Wise Osteopathy. Victorian Government (DHHS) have announced new rules and criteria in the way Allied health practitioners are able to treat. From Monday, 28th of September, Allied health Practitioners (Osteo, physio, Chiro, dentists, podiatrists etc) will be able to see patients for face-to-face services for a broader range of treatments other than just preventing hospital admission, such as for pain management or to prevent a deter...ioration in functional independence. We are still unable to take routine patients, however, we are no longer required to only treat patients under an emergency, essential basis. What this means is that if your pain has deteriorated and will continue to deteriorate as a result from a delay of care, then you will be able to come in for a treatment during this time to tide you over until restrictions fully ease. The DHHS has stressed to us that it is not business as normal, and that we still need to be aiming to reduce movement within the community as much as possible, so if your care is for maintenance or routine care, we will require you to wait until a full easing of restrictions. If your condition does deteriorate in the meantime, please make sure to reach out to us to be screened. If you have an appointment booked, you'll receive a reminder sms and screening questionnaire. We will get in touch only if that appointment was booked in as a routine appointment. We appreciate your support and patience with us Any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the clinic 9351 0654

08.01.2022 UPDATE!! Some details have not yet been finalised by the Government, so we apologise for any inconvenience due to the sudden changes over the coming days. Under Stage 4 restrictions, Osteopathic clinics can continue to see patients, however the State Government has placed restrictions on who can attend for face-to-face appointments. If you have a GP referred appointment, you can travel through the travel restriction of 5km from home. This does not apply to medical appointment.
